Much like Odysseus, some food products go on journeys of their own. They start in their rightful homes of supermarket shelves; they follow their inevitable destiny to the land of discontinued items; and then, after a long struggle to return, and after many years, they land back where they first started (Yes, I saw “The Odyssey” last week. Yes, I’m totally butchering it with this comparison. Let me have my fun, I beg you.)

It feels vaguely gauche and silly to compare a pasta salad from Costco to arguably the greatest story ever told, but there we are – I’ve done it. And like the titular hero in Homer’s epic, this dish has now returned to Ithaca. Er, I mean, big-box stores nationwide. Let’s dig in.
Costco’s Greek Pasta Salad With Rotisserie Chicken: You’re Home!
A few days ago, @costcohotfinds on Instagram confirmed the news that a lot of Costco customers have been hoping for: Its Greek Pasta Salad with Rotisserie Chicken is once again available in its stores. The salad was last seen almost a decade ago, when it quietly exited Costco’s deli section to be replaced by other options, and hasn’t been around since. Now, though, we’ve got a comeback, people.
Costco’s Greek Pasta Salad with Rotisserie Chicken comes packed with feta cheese, artichoke hearts, diced red onion, tomatoes, and, of course, the protein in its name – and it’s doused in a Greek salad dressing that brings everything together. It’s hearty enough to serve as an entrée for lunch or dinner, and it’s priced at around $4.99 per pound (although, as was ever thus, this may vary from store to store).
Thank The Gods You’re Here!
When I said that a lot of Costco customers had been hoping for this salad to come back, it wasn’t an exaggeration: @costcohotfinds’ post announcing its arrival received a deluge of comments from people rejoicing that the store had elected to reintroduce it. The word “finally” was seen a fair few times while scrolling through the post’s comment section, while plenty of people said that it was their favorite. Hey, a good salad lives long in the memory.
It’s not the only voyager heralded by Costco customers for its return to its supermarkets, either. A few weeks ago, Costco’s Italian Sausage & Pasta in Garlic Wine Sauce also came back, and back in May, its deli mustard did the same. Costco’s really replaying the classics this year.
