It’s a summer of flavor and Wingstop is no stranger to adding great flavor drops, like their recent chamoy and tajin flavor. Well, saddle up because Wingstop is bringing another round of flavors to your local Wingstop. Their chamoy flavor focused on sweet and heat and these new flavors play with that theme too, but this time, they head a little North of Mexico.

Two Flavors With A Cowboy Theme
For these flavors, Wingstop is looking to the cowboys and ranchers and packing big BBQ flavor into two new flavors of wings: Carolina Gold and Jamaican Jerk. Carolina Gold is a sweet, tangy Southern BBQ with rich golden flavor inspired by the Carolinas and their signature BBQ sauce. Jamaican Jerk is made with warm Caribbean spices and savory herbs that come together for a bold island-inspired flavor.
Now, I find it a little strange to be calling this a cowboy theme when one of the two flavors is a Caribbean flavor and isn’t something you would typically associate with cowboys, BBQ, and rodeos. I get that they already have a hickory BBQ sauce on their regular menu, but BBQ and cowboy cooking is a rich vein to tap and they had a lot of flavors to tap into that they didn’t.
That’s not to say that the Jamaican Jerk doesn’t sound like a good flavor. It sounds delicious, but I think it may have paired up better with the chamoy drop and they could’ve had a Latin American type drop, allowing them to focus more on another flavor for this one. Since Texas BBQ and Carolina BBQ sauce are now represented, I think they could’ve played around with Alabama white BBQ sauce and then had a whole range of BBQ flavors. Or gone for a smoky rub that brought up the idea of cooking on an open fire.
A Brand New Sauce
Wing flavors aren’t the only drop for this, there’s also a new hot honey mustard dipping sauce. Which again, not quite on theme, but I’m sure will be popular. There’s also a new drink, exclusive to Wingstop locations that feature a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine: Sprite Strawberry Rodeo. Now this just sounds like a strawberry Sprite that they added the word rodeo too. But a strawberry Sprite does sound like a refreshing drink you’d find at a rodeo so I’ll let that one slide.
Here’s When The New Menu Arrives
The new flavors release to Wingstop members starting August 7th and to the general public starting the 11th. This drop is only available for a limited time, so don’t wait around to try if these flavors interest you.
