Not only is fall home to the back to school season, but the flavor that defines the season has been long established as pumpkin spice. So, it only makes sense that the intersection of convenience foods and pumpkin spice hits us with full force come August and September. That’s never been more true than this year as pumpkin spice products started hitting shelves as early as July. Companies were wasting no time in letting everyone know that this year they’re all in on the flavor that has kept society and pop culture in a firm grasp over the past few years.

And recently, Belgian Boys has been taking over the convenience breakfast food space with a fresher, and more sophisticated take on ready-to-eat waffles and pancakes for busy mornings and picky eaters. To really get into the fall spirit they’ve already released their newest flavor in the lineup. You’ve guessed it already: it’s pumpkin spice.
A New Kind Of Pancake
The thing I think I find the most interesting about this new release of the pumpkin spice mini pancakes from Belgian Boys is the fact that they have actually leaned into the fact that pumpkin spice is developed from the spices used to flavor a pumpkin pie. But that doesn’t mean that “pumpkin spiced” things should be devoid of the squash purée that the blend gets its name from in the first place. These new breakfast treats include pumpkin purée as one of its core ingredients, bringing in that natural sweetness and earthiness that a lot of pumpkin spice products are lacking entirely.
Whether you need them in 30 seconds or can wait five minutes, the perfect method for you to eat a convenient and luscious breakfast is only a short matter of time away. That said, you don’t wave to warm them at all if that’s not your style. A cold pancake in a lunchbox never hurt anybody and in fact some of us may even prefer it that way. This launch brings the warmth and joy of the autumn festivities ahead to this incredible convenience with the aforementioned pumpkin purée, as well as spices like cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
We’re So Ready
If you have the time, these could even be spiced up (pun most definitely intended) in a lot of ways to really max out on the festive flavors. To me, maple is a fall flavor in and of itself and a brown butter maple dip for these might just be my next fall fantasy. My main hopes for these is that the flavor of the pumpkin spice is not at all artificial. Because, if they are simply adding the pure pumpkin spice flavors, derived from real food ingredients, to their already impeccable made pancakes then these are guaranteed to be one of the best fall releases this year. If you want to try them out for yourself, they’re already on Aldi shelves across the United States.
