This Fan Favorite Blue Bell Ice Cream Is Finally Back

There are more than a few wholesome, fun facts about the Blue Bell ice cream brand. For instance, back in the early 1910s, they delivered their first batches of ice cream by horse and buggy. (Presumably also loaded up with a lot of ice and/or rock salt.)

Lucky for us, the Texas-based ice cream brand still churns out the wholesomeness (the first four ingredients of their Southern Blackberry Cobbler flavor are milk, cream, sugar, and blackberry puree). They just do it in a much quicker way―and we’re thankful, since we recently heard a major Blue Bell fan favorite flavor is finally back, and for a limited time only.

Forget Pumpkin. It’s Strawberry Cheesecake Season.

Yes, friends, whether fall is in the air or not, Blue Bell is bringing back the semi-summery vibes of its adored Strawberry Cheesecake flavor. And while we know Blue Bell already has a healthy roster of very good flavors, Per Blue Bell’s own, unsparingly delicious description, it’s “rich cheesecake ice cream with cheesecake pieces, succulent strawberries and swirls of delicious strawberry sundae sauce.” 

The fact that any ice cream company was wise, and generous, enough to put actual cheesecake pieces in a cheesecake-flavored ice cream is a thing to celebrate just by itself. Add those “succulent” strawberries and then swirls of delicious strawberry sundae sauce, you’ve got an ice cream that is decidedly off-trend (in this autumnally anticipatory era of all things pumpkin and spiced) and yes, we’d like five scoops, please. 

Of Course, Fans Are Calling for Permanent Status

Before you clean out your entire freezer to make room, bare in mind it’s available for a limited time only. And even if strawberries are traditionally summery, the cheesecake-on-cheesecake factor of this flavor makes it decadent and rich enough to rationalize well into the cold weather months. 

Additionally, this flavor is sold only by the half gallon. But that hasn’t seemed to dampen the online mood, with Instagram commenters already planning what sounds like a delicious smoothie and another fondly remembering the first time they had this flavor back in college. Of course, most of the comments share one thing in common: begging for this flavor to become permanent. We have to say that we agree with them. Blue Bell, listen to the people!
