Liquid Death, as always, is up to some wild stuff. While we’ve already covered their recent innovations in the field of candy-flavored sparkling water, the brand has quietly released two new flavors in their casually-caffeinated iced tea line. LD was nice enough to send over both new flavors for a taste test; let’s find out whether Raspberry Rage and Cinnamon Roll can live up to this brand’s reputation–or even exceed it.

Liquid Death Raspberry Rage Iced Tea Review
Liquid Death Raspberry Rage Iced Tea

New Liquid Death Tea!

Pros: Despite the branding, most of Liquid Death’s drinks are exactly what they say on the can… for better or for worse. This is a totally sane, low-sugar raspberry iced tea. There’s nothing raging about Raspberry Rage in the slightest.

As usual, I got a second opinion on this from my girlfriend who knows more about tea than I know about anything. While she’s broadly anti-canned tea on account of the aluminum taste transferred to the tongue, she did give Raspberry Rage her highest mark imaginable: “It’s good for a canned tea.”

Cons: I just don’t see myself picking this middle-of-the-road offering out of the lineup compared to their classic Sweet Reaper or whatever their newest absurd offering is. Liquid Death have backed themselves into a corner by releasing so many crazy drink concepts; once tea based on Pop-Tarts is on the table, Raspberry Rage doesn’t raise an eyebrow of curiosity or interest.

Liquid Death Cinnamon Roll Iced Tea Review
Liquid Death Cinnamon Roll Iced Tea

New Liquid Death Tea!

Pros: Speaking of absurd, let’s talk about Liquid Death’s second pastry-flavored iced tea. Before we get into the plausibly-obvious cons, there are some interesting things going on here. The spice and flavor blend used here to replicate “Cinnamon Roll” are actually common to a pretty popular type of tea. If you’re a fan of chai, this is the closest you’re going to get from Liquid Death’s iced tea line. The end result is sweet and truly reminiscent of an iced cinnamon pastry… for some reason.

Cons: This tastes like Liquid Death blended iced tea with a Cinnabon Center Of The Roll. If it isn’t clear, that’s not glowing praise. My tea expert gave this half-credit for being a vaguely spiced vanilla tea and took the credit right back for not committing fully to the chai concept. Me? I’m just mad they didn’t name it Sinnamon Roll.
