Last week, I tackled Crumbl’s all-collaboration lineup in a hotel room with zero cutlery to cut the king-sized desserts into responsible bites. This week, I’m tackling Crumbl’s all-collaboration lineup from my home with the appropriate amount of cutlery. How quickly the wind changes. Crumbl was nice enough to send over their full slate of snack cake-inspired treats. Let’s find out which of these Little Debbie Crumbl cookies are worth trading for and which you should trade away as quickly as possible.

- Unicorn Cake Cookie Review

There’s too much happening here, folks. A strawberry cake cookie topped with vanilla mousse, a “white drop coating” that will keep coming up like weeds, and sugar/drizzle garnishes. The majority of that “white drop coating” slides off the cookie with your first bite, making this a physical balancing act. Once you’ve rearranged your napkin/hand/car to keep everything together, you discover this particular treat is… a flavorless sugar overload. There’s absolutely no strawberry flavor to be found in this cookie. Kids will love it; everyone else should steer clear.

- Zebra Cake Review

If Crumbl could only pick two sandwich-style treats to interpret during this week’s menu, they picked the most iconic pair (even if the Zebra concept is equally known in Cake and Roll form). The coating of melted white drops is a little thick compared to the original, leading to a very disparate ratio of cake-to-coating for those familiar with the classic treat. That said, the marshmallow cream cheese filling is a great interpretation of the original creme filling… but not so great that I’d recommend this over the original.

- Strawberry Shortcake Roll Cookie Review

This cookie has a thin base layer of the same melted white drops drowning the Zebra Cake; with those, less is more. Here, that smaller portion delivers the familiar light “crunch” of breaking through an iced coating without imparting an excess taste like the Zebra Cake. As for the house-made strawberry jam and whipped cream swirl, the combination truly does deliver that nostalgic fruit-ish flavor from the OG. I would have loved to see the jam baked into the cookie in some way, but I admit this does deliver the right ratio of cake-to-filling for a Strawberry Shortcake Roll-inspired cookie.

I can’t believe Crumbl hasn’t tackled this concept before. Considering how many iconic treats have been homaged by the pink-boxed powerhouse, it’s genuinely surprising this round version of the golden lunchtime currency is debuting as an official collaboration. The fudge glaze doesn’t capture the concrete-powder stickiness of the original, which makes this a little easier to chew. The end result is a lightly-elevated version of a standard Cosmic Brownie that you’ll likely enjoy precisely as much as you enjoy the original.

Visually, this is the most accurate cookie I received in my sample delivery. I’ve always had a soft spot for these snack cakes, so I’ve got high hopes… and I’m not wholly disappointed! We’ll start with the downside that this doesn’t really feel like the classic Little Debbie Chocolate Cupcake. That said, this is a very solid chocolate-fudge-marshmallow-icing cookie! Toss a cherry on top, and you’d have a damn convincing Hot Fudge Chocolate Sundae Cookie. While I miss the textural experience of biting through that hard icing layer, I can’t pretend this isn’t a good time regardless.

- Oatmeal Creme Pie Cookie Review

I’m not sure where this is going to end up in the ranking, but I saved this cookie for last. I’ve got deep, deep nostalgic emotions attached to Little Debbie’s Oatmeal Creme Pies, so I really need this sandwich cookie homage to deliver what I’m looking for. It’d break my heart to have to text my grandma that this isn’t worth checking out with her seemingly infinite supply of Crumbl coupons. Fingers crossed, folks…
Alright, I’ve got weird news and good news. Is this a one-to-one recreation/elevation of a real Oatmeal Creme Pie? No. The oatmeal cookies here have much more texture than the original treat. That being said, this tastes homey in a way Crumbl treats rarely do. This tastes like something a food truck would label “Not Your Momma’s Oatmeal Creme Pie”. The creme is softer and lighter, the oatmeal cookies have a “realer” texture, and the combination delivers the right flavor combination with a more unique mouthfeel.
