If it wasn’t obvious from my current livelihood as a cookie reviewer, sports were never my strong suit. That said, I did spend a few years as a young person with functional bones golfing. Who could have guessed the game where half the time is spent riding in a little cart would appeal to my unathletic self?

Taco Bell must have realized their fanbase is equally indoorsy, because the fast-food giant is hosting the first-ever Live Más Open later this year. This 36-player tournament will pair celebrities, professional athletes, content creators, and Taco Bell fans (maybe even you!) to tackle nine holes at The Ranch in Laguna Beach. As if that wasn’t enough, Kevin Hart is hosting the whole shebang, too.

What is the Live Más Open?

On November 9th, nine teams will face an “unconventional” set of challenges for bragging rights and prizes bigger than any green jacket. After conquering the competition, the winning foursome will receive the Live Más Open trophy, purple jackets, and the right to revive the discontinued Taco Bell menu item of their choosing for a limited time in 2027.

In addition to wild golfing action, all nine teams will also experience the world’s first on-course Taco Bell drive-thru, featuring twists on Taco Bell menu items inspired by golf course favorites and country club classics. (Here’s hoping we’ll see a Transfusion-inspired Grape Baja Blast.)

How can I play in the Live Más Open?

All nine teams will feature a real Taco Bell fan alongside the celebs and professionals. If you’d like to throw your golf hat on the green for consideration, make your way to Topgolf before the end of this month (or enter for free here). Now through September 27th, players who score 200 points or more in Topgolf’s Shot Shuffle game will be invited to enter the Live Más Open Qualifier. Taco Bell will randomly select 100 candidates from those two entry methods to win a one-month Topgolf Platinum Club Membership and submit a player bio/video for evaluation. Out of those 100 candidates, nine selected superfans will make their way to Laguna Beach for the Live Más Open in early November.

What if I just want to watch Kevin Hart roast 36 other people while they golf?

Good news: Taco Bell’s inaugural Live Más Open will be livestreamed straight from The Ranch for fans nationwide. If the nine teams make their discontinued-item allegiances known ahead of time, I expect the online crowd will be split between rooting for their favorite participants and rooting for the menu item they want to see return most. Will you be watching the Live Más Open on November 9th? Should Taco Bell make this aspiring golfer their most niche content creator participant? Comment the word “Yes!” twice below. (Please.)
