It’s not every day that we see a company do a rebrand that, instead of going heavy on the Instagram-ability and transitioning to all things aesthetic, stays true to what the company always was and leans into the branding that made the company so defined in the first place. But Jell-O has been doing just that. Their rebrand has been scratching our brains in every nostalgic way with their new packaging and same iconic flavors.

But the company’s done one more thing that has really made us proud of this rebranding that Jell-O is going through, too. It leans into another nostalgic product that defined so many of our childhoods. You see they released flavored lip products with Tower 28, a clean Beauty company determined to deliver results without any of the nasty stuff. And let’s be honest, they look like Lip Smackers in all the best ways. Let’s get into the details.

What’s Available?

The intersection of the beauty and food spaces continues as every campaign seems to have some kind of tie into edible qualities. But a Jell-O lip jelly? Now that just makes sense. Tower 28 doesn’t use any fragrances in their products, so all of the flavors in this collection actually just come from food-grade flavor. You’ll be getting all of the iconic Jell-O flavors without any fragrance, so it’s staying true to the Tower 28 brand and delivering on clean beauty.

The first two items in this collection are sold as one duo pack, and they are the ShineOn Lip Jelly glosses in Strawberry and Lemon Lime. The Strawberry flavor is a sheer pink a pH activated stain, and the Lemon Lime flavor is a clear gloss in a green bottle. This duo comes in at $26 with a $32 retail value. And honestly, $26 for two full-sized lip products from a Sephora brand is kind of unheard of, so we’re impressed.

The other product in the collection is another set called the Lil’ Pudding Snack Set, and it includes four miniature LipSoftie Tinted Lip treatments. The first flavor included in the set is the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, and it has a creamy pale pink color. The second is the Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl flavor that comes in a rich chocolate brown shade. The third is the Banana Cream ream flavor that has no color. But it is rich with that nostalgic banana cream taste. Finally, this set includes a pistachio flavor, too. And, like the banana, the treatment itself is clear but has a sweet, nutty taste.

More On The Collab

Tower 28 is a beauty brand dedicated to allowing their product users to access a world of self expression without any fear of icky ingredients or bad reactions. Their products are available through Sephora and their company website, and people love their products. They’ve made it to Sephora, so there’s got to be a pretty big demand out there.

On the Jell-O side of things, there’s probably not much to say that hasn’t already been said or that you don’t already know. It is a household name and has been a staple for a lot of families since its release in the 1890s. But their nostalgic rebranding seems like the perfect occasion to release something simply reminiscent of childhood: dessert flavored lip products. And instead of some company that would’ve produced something that looks good without any substance, they chose to prioritize quality — and we appreciate it.
