Jimmy John’s Is Adding Two New Sandwiches (And They’re Perfect For BBQ Lovers)

As a certified sub lover and a believer that every day should include a sandwich, it’s always surprising to remember how much we’re sleeping on a good Jimmy John’s sandwich. Every time we go it’s like a gentle reminder that we really just do not eat enough Jimmy John’s. Their execution and flavor diversity excels what’s available at Subway, and it just feel feels fresher and more satisfying too.

When we heard from Jimmy John’s this week that they are expanding their menu to include an all new flavor and protein opportunity to their locations we were filled with excitement. The thing is, this launch completely differs from the world of cold cuts and enters into a southern American dream. That’s right, we’re getting barbecue brisket at Jimmy John’s — and it’s already available in stores.

This launch is a celebration of their new collaboration with Sweet Baby Ray’s through which the sandwiches and brisket highlight the flavors of two distinct sauces. The brisket is all smoked and served sliced in the sandwiches. Let’s dig deeper into the sandwiches flavor profiles though, shall we?

The Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Brisket Sandwich

The first new sandwich available at Jimmy John’s with the all new brisket option is the Hickory Brown Sugar BBQ Brisket Sandwich. It’s made on the typical toasted French bread that you would get in a standard Jimmy John’s order and is filled with tender mesquite-smoked brisket, cheddar cheese, and Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce.

To give it an even more distinct barbecue flair (and make it even better), they’ve added a crispy onions to the sandwich as well, in addition to the lettuce and mayo on the sandwich. Something about the combination of the Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce and the crispy onions really screams Midwest barbecue in a way that has us begging to try it out for ourselves.

The Sweet & Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich

The second sandwich included in this launch is the Sweet & Spicy BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Rather than the Mesquite smoked brisket, this sandwich uses slow-smoke, tender brisket and Sweet Baby Ray’s, Sweet ‘n Spicy Barbecue Sauce. The sandwich has cheddar cheese, lettuce, and mayo on it as well. But where the flavor really starts to differ for this sandwich is in the addition of onions and Jimmy Peppers for an extra bright and tangy kick. It is served on French bread as well.
