Blue Bell knows how to keep people interested. The ever-busy ice cream brand has spent much of this year bringing out new flavors, but it’s also devoted just as much time to playing the classics one more time – by which I mean that it’s reviving an all-star lineup of former fan faves. In April, Blue Bell brought back its Tin Roof flavor, which was followed just a few weeks ago by its Strawberry Cheesecake. Every time it does this, Blue Bell customers tell the brand that they’d really like these flavors to be permanent; every time, they’re left disappointed.

To paraphrase the famous Kander and Ebb song, maybe this time they’ll be lucky (although it doesn’t look likely). Blue Bell’s remounting yet another all-timer. Let’s discuss.
Blue Bell Cookies ’n Cream Cone Ice Cream
Last week, Blue Bell announced via its Instagram that its Cookies ‘n Cream Cone Ice Cream would be making a comeback for a limited time. Quick primer for anyone not familiar with this flavor: Cookies ‘n Cream Cone Ice Cream first appeared in Blue Bell’s lineup in 1997 and was a regular fixture until 2015, when it was discontinued. Blue Bell brought it back in 2021 in a limited capacity, and it’s dropped it several times since, but every time, it’s been all too brief.
Well, now, everyone’s getting another taste. Cookies ‘n Cream Cone Ice Cream starts with a vanilla-flavored base, into which chocolate crème-filled cookie crumbles, chocolate cone pieces, and a chocolate fudge swirl are all mixed. This time, the ice cream will only be available in a pint size. You might want to stock up before it disappears once more (and we don’t know when that will be, so best to move sooner rather than later, we’d say).
They’re Begging You, Blue Bell!
As is to be expected, Blue Bell’s announcement of Cookies ‘n Cream Cone’s return was met with pleas for the brand to bring it back full-time. “Why is this not a constant! It’s the best flavor ever made and we hardly ever get it,” said one customer. “So why is it only limited and not permanently back on the shelves,” asked another, followed by a raised-eyebrow emoji. Unfortunately, limited-time drops are very successful attention-grabbing strategies, and Blue Bell’s mastered it — and its product line is pretty extensive already. It just doesn’t need to bring flavors like this back permanently. Never say never, though.
