This Fan Fave Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Flavor Is Finally Returning

Chocolate and mint is almost as divisive a flavor combination as chocolate and orange. Maybe more so? To be honest, I wouldn’t know which one haters hate more because I actually love both combinations, and (lucky for chocolate fiends like me) they tend to be around a lot this time of year.

But even people who usually dislike chocolate and mint soften when it comes to that one seasonal, woodsiest-of-all-candy-shapes, peppermint “bark.” There’s a solid chance people are just being polite to me when I offer it to them, or that those little Lindt snowman shapes sort of soften the minty blow. But especially for those of us who passionately love our peppermint mochas and peppermint candies, bark-shaped and otherwise, some sweet, minty news: Häagen-Dazs is bringing back its Peppermint Bark treats.

‘Tis The Season

This being Häagen-Dazs, we’re not talking about the candy peppermint bark. All three of the soon-to-be-launched peppermint bark treats are frozen; two will be available at grocery stores nationwide on October 14th, and the third (a quartet of ice cream shop creations) will be available in Häagen-Dazs shops starting on November 14th. 

Since they’ll be available sooner (and, being so honest, I’m already craving the cool pepperminty chocolate of it all), let’s start with what’s coming to Costco and grocery stores near you October 14th. First, (which some fans seem to have already found in stores) is the classic 14-ounce pint of Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark ice cream―a white chocolate ice cream base “blended with crunchy chocolate peppermint bark and peppermint candy pieces.” Also on October 14th, at Costcos nationwide, you can celebrate the debut of Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Mini Bars: more of that creamy white chocolate ice cream coated in “a thick layer of dark chocolate and finished with peppermint bark pieces.”

While all Costcos should have these by October 14th, eagle-eyed shoppers have already spotted them early.

Four In-Store Peppermint Treats Coming in November

Yes, you’ll have to wait just a bit longer for this quartet of treats―they debut in Häagen-Dazs shops on November 14th, to be exact. (But don’t worry, we’ll have all that Peppermint Bark ice cream and those new mini bars to tide us over…) In the meantime, of course, that doesn’t mean we can’t day dream about ice cream shop treats with names like “Peppermint Bark Dazzler Sundae,” “Peppermint Bark Frozen Hot Chocolate,” “Peppermint Bark Dipped Waffle Cone,” and (more classically), the “Peppermint Bark Shake.”

The shake is pretty straightforward―Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark ice cream blended into shake form with appropriate (whipped cream and peppermint bark pieces) toppings. The dipped waffle cone definitely sounds intriguing because we’re wondering if the cone itself is dipped into chocolate with peppermint pieces (and then filled, because sometimes life is good, with yet more peppermint bark ice cream). No doubt people will be most excited by the frozen hot chocolate (it’s a thing, and oh-so-delicious), and I don’t know about you but I’m very enthusiastically curious to see just what it is that makes that Peppermint Bark Sundae “dazzle.” 

The treats are available in shop from November 14th through January 14th, so there’s plenty of time to find out.
