Cheesy Cream Soda Now Exists, Thanks To Kraft

It’s all getting pretty out-there, isn’t it? 2026 has been a particularly busy year for wacky food mashups, and as of late September (how did we get here this quickly?), they’re still coming thick and fast every day. Just yesterday, we were ruminating on the new KFC protein cereal, which feels hard to swallow, both as a concept and a foodstuff. Today, we’re going to be talking about the fact that Kraft Dinner has collaborated with Canadian beverage brand Solly’s Craft Soda to make a drink that tastes like cheese. Let’s discuss.

KD x Solly’s Cream Soda

This week, Kraft Dinner announced it teamed up with Solly’s Craft Soda to make a new KD x Solly’s Cream Soda. The drink, according to its press release, is a sweet and savory affair that “puts a cheesy twist on nostalgic cream soda” – although it looks as though it’ll be just a hint of cheesiness, as opposed to a full-on aged parmesan experience going on in each can. In case anyone was in any doubt, this is a limited-edition release, and it has the strong potential to become a collector’s item. Will it have mass appeal? I’d imagine not. Will it be a talking point? Yes. Will it taste good? Apparently, it really does work — so don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.

Why is all of this happening, you ask? Well, as Kraft Heinz suggests, it’s all very much in the spirit of Kraft Dinner itself, which has long been a site of play and experimentation (point of order to say that a lot of this play and experimentation is more along the lines of “add bacon bits” or “amp up the cheese a little,” instead of “turn it into a soda,” but KD’s just taking it to its logical extreme, we guess). “A soda might be the last place you would expect to find KD, which is exactly what made teaming up with Solly’s Craft Soda so much fun – they have the entrepreneurial energy, creativity and willingness to challenge conventions that made them the perfect partner for this idea,” says Kraft Heinz’s head of marketing and strategy, Daniel Lundberg, in its press release.

It’s not the first time KD has done this kind of thing this year, either: In Spring, it created a Kraft Dinner Mac & Cheesecake. Like I said: Play and experimentation. Just times it by 100.

Where Can I Get My Hands On This New Soda?

Well, unless you’re in Canada, you can’t — not through mainstream retailers, at least. KD x Solly’s Cream Soda is available now on Amazon and will be available at participating stores like Walmart in early October, but only in its Canadian branches and only while stocks last.
