Last year, Red Bull went for a fruity and fizzy combo with its Fuji Apple Ginger Winter Edition, which tasted like crisp apple mixed with bubbly ginger ale. For the 2026 Winter Edition, the energy drink brand is heading in a very different direction with a flavor that sounds like a dessert.

The Pistachio & Berries flavor is an unexpected combination for an energy drink, but that is exactly what makes this year’s Winter Edition so interesting, and who knows, it might just be staying permanently.

Going Fruity And Nutty For Winter

Pistachio has been showing up everywhere lately. It’s popping up in chocolate bars, ice cream, cookies, coffee drinks, and plenty of other sweets. Now, Red Bull is giving it an energy drink makeover.

According to Red Bull, the new Winter Edition combines pistachio and berries with caramel and creamy notes. This is supposed to give it a fruity taste with a nutty and creamy finish. 

The berries should give the drink its bright, sweet side, while the pistachio and caramel are there to make things a little richer. It is an unusual combination, but that seems to be exactly what Red Bull is going for. 

There Is Also A Sugar-Free Version

Fans who prefer their Red Bull without sugar are getting their own can. The Red Bull Winter Edition Sugarfree Pistachio & Berries has the same general flavor idea as the regular version, with pistachio, berries, caramel, and creamy notes.

The regular 250ml can contains 80mg of caffeine and 27g of sugar, while the sugar-free version uses Sucralose & acesulfame K as substitutes. 

Red Bull Has Tried Some Pretty Wild Winter Flavors

Pistachio & Berries may sound pretty unusual, but Red Bull has been experimenting with its Winter Edition lineup for years.

The seasonal series has featured flavors including Plum Twist, Holiday Spice, Arctic Berry, Pomegranate, Fig Apple, Pear Cinnamon, Iced Vanilla Berry, and Fuji Apple & Ginger.

Some were fruity; some brought in spices, and some were a little bit on the sweeter side. So the 2026 flavor combines several of those ideas in one can. There is fruit from the berries, a creamy feel from the flavor blend, caramel for extra sweetness, and pistachio for the nutty note.

Is Pistachio & Berries The Next Big Hit?

Interestingly, Red Bull also recently gave its previous Winter Edition flavor a more permanent home. Fuji Apple & Ginger returned as the permanent Red Bull Apple Edition in the U.S. on August 31, 2026.

So, if the Pistachio & Berries flavor manages to win over the hearts of fans, Red Bull might be giving it a permanent stay on the shelves.
