There are a lot of reasons to like Pasta Rummo. The Italian brand has been producing pasta for 180 years, and its adherence to traditional methods really shows in the final, toothsome, al dente, flavorful result. While it’s not the cheapest option around, it’s also not wildly expensive – and Stanley Tucci loves it. Like I said: a lot of reasons. I have a few packs of Pasta Rummo in my pantry right now, incidentally, and the news I’m about to bring you has reminded me that I’m well overdue for a bowl of rigatoni alla gricia.

But first, to said news. Pasta Rummo has just dropped three new shapes, and they’re available at Whole Foods now.

Pasta Rummo New Shapes

This October, which is National Pasta Month, Pasta Rummo is expanding its US options with three new shapes. I say “new,” but these pasta shapes are, of course, as traditional and authentic as they come; it’s just the first time the brand has brought them to the States.

The shapes now available are:

  • Potato Gnocchi: Italian semolina and Italian potatoes come together in these pillowy parcels, which cook in two minutes. The potato note in these rings out particularly strongly, which makes them perfect served with simple options like brown butter and sage, where they can shine instead of getting lost amongst the other flavors. That said, you can also throw them into a bake for a bowl of hearty comfort.
  • Fusilli Corti Bucati: Slightly different from standard fusilli, Fusilli Corti Bucati is a true corkscrew shape with a hollow center, giving each piece more surface area and opportunities to capture sauce.
  • Stelline: If you’ve got any soups planned for this fall, let stelline brighten them up. These teeny little star-shaped pieces are perfect for providing a touch of glamorous bolstering to your broths.

Available Now!

Pasta Rummo’s new options have dropped at Whole Foods, and they’ll also be available at other retailers across the country. Its Fusilli Corti Bucati and Stelline have a suggested retail price of $3.99, and the Potato Gnocchi are recommended at $4.49 – but bear in mind that these prices may vary from store to store. An expanded assortment of pasta shapes made by a reputable brand? That’s the kind of thing that excites me: There’s nothing like a good bowl of well-made pasta, and having more ways to enjoy it is always going to be a good thing in my book.
