It’s been a busy week of Gatorade news here at Sporked. In fact, it’s been a busy couple of months of Gatorade news. But what else is new? The sports drink brand isn’t exactly shy and retiring, after all. So, to recap: Shortly after the re-release of Gatorade’s Shirley Temple flavor in August, we received news that it would be dropping a banana-flavored option, available exclusively on TikTok Shop. That one launched yesterday, but we’re already back with more electrolyte-filled chat.

And when we say electrolyte-filled, we mean it. Gatorade’s bringing out a new batch of Gatorlyte drinks next year, and we’ve got what you need to know.
Gatorlyte Longer Lasting
This week, @snachwithzach and @SodaSeekers (who is Sporked’s own Griffin Parker) teamed up to bring us a bunch of news about the upcoming additions to Pepsi’s drinks portfolio. Gatorade’s new product was just one of the reveals included, and those of you who like to go really, really hard in your workouts will likely be pretty pleased about this one.
Gatorade Longer Lasting is an addition to the Gatorlyte lineup, and these new drinks are designed to offer increased, four-hour hydration support. They’ll be available in three flavors – Fuji Apple Pear, Strawberry Lime, and Tropical Ice – and they’re zero sugar, too. Gatorlyte is already designed to provide additional hydration than standard Gatorade, so these new drinks are clearly intended to be pretty heavy-duty, and for use by all you serious exercisers out there.
And When Can I Get Them?
Gatorlyte Longer Lasting will be dropping in February 2027 – and guess what, these drinks are gonna be permanent! Any worries about not being able to get an abundance of electrolytes in Fuji Apple Pear flavor being April or so should be left at the door.
The release of Gatorlyte Longer Lasting clearly taps into the growing desire for functional foods and drinks, and more specifically, sports drinks that don’t just whack you over the head with sugar after your workout. It should be mentioned, though, of course, that a lot of the time, we may not need the electrolytes that drinks like Gatorlyte Longer Lasting might offer. You have to work out really, really hard to lose a significant amount of electrolytes, and you can also get too many of them — so you’ll probably want to save these drinks for when you really need them. After a half-marathon, maybe.
