There are a lot of fruits out there that work well in drinks like Gatorade. Berries? Naturally. Citrus fruits? Of course. Grape? Cherry? Even cucumber? Yep. Gatorade flavors generally err on the side of tried-and-tested formats, and a lot of people wouldn’t have it any other way. We know what we’re getting, and that’s just fine.

But now and again in the drinks world, we get a curveball (well, that’s an understatement – we get a lot of curveballs). And today’s the day that Gatorade fills a long-absent gap in its flavor profile, with an option that might just be what some folks have been waiting for all these years. Get ready: It’s dropping today.
Banana Gatorade Thirst Quencher
Yes, people, it’s time to go bananas. Gatorade has just announced its new banana-flavored Thirst Quencher, a limited-edition drop that’s available in a snazzy bundle from today on TikTok Shop (and only on TikTok Shop, just so ya know). Gatorade’s new banana edition follows a video from Savannah Bananas second baseman and Dancing with the Stars contestant Jackson Olson, who has worked with the hydration drink brand for years, in which he stated that Gatorade had long been missing the flavor in its portfolio. Well, just a few days later (how about that? Don’t they move quickly?), Gatorade has responded, and the drink is here.
Gatorade’s banana-flavored Thirst Quencher will come in a 20-ounce bottle, and it has a bold yellow label with a banana being peeled on it – just in case you were in any doubt about what it tasted like, ya know. When it drops on TikTok Shop, it will come with a box of Gatorade Zero Mashups powders and a Gatorade-branded 26 oz. stainless steel bottle in green. I’m a bit put out that it isn’t yellow, but hey. Can’t win ‘em all.
And How Do I Get It?
You have to move quickly. This new Gatorade will launch today, October 8, at 10 a.m. CT, and once this drop’s gone, it’s gone. Head over to Gatorade’s TikTok store to secure the bag – or the banana, rather.
And how do we feel about all this? Well…on one level, it makes a lot of sense. Gatorade is all about hydration and electrolytes, and bananas are famously abundant in the latter. Bananas are also not exactly a complete unknown in the drinks world, although their flavor tends to come in the form of protein shakes (or caffeinated protein milk) – basically, in drinks that have a bit of heft to them. Banana usually needs some element of creaminess to really shine. But there’s also space for a lighter drink in there, so I’m very curious to see what Gatorade does with this one.
