This Jimmy John’s Fave Is Back (And Perfectly On Trend For 2026)

At this point you can’t even say pickles are having a “moment.” Pickles are just passionately adored. But 2026 has been on another level with the pickle-themed or flavored foods that have popped up.

So maybe it’s apt, or just genius timing, that Jimmy John’s is choosing now, toward the end of a very long year, to bring back its beloved, behemoth Picklewich. Not only that―they’re adding Pickle-flavored Jimmy Chips into the mix and a new set of adorable pickle plushies. The sandwich and chips will be available October 26th and the Triple Pickle Meal (which comes with a plushie) will be available the next day. 

The Most Pickly Pickle Food of All Time

If you’ve never tried one, the Picklewich is exactly what it sounds like: a Jimmy John’s deli sandwich with two halves of a relatively girthy kosher dill pickle taking the place of the bread. First released in October 2024, the Picklewich began with just two flavors―a turkey provolone and what they called the Vito, which is as Italian, meaty, and cheesy as you could hope. 

The next year they followed that up with roast beef, ham, tuna, and veggie varieties. In every case, and this is helpful to know, the pickle “bread” is hollowed out, making more room for filling and―wisely―preventing everything from squishing out. This year isn’t introducing any new flavors of sandwich, but you’ll get those Pickle-flavored Jimmy chips plus one of five Jimmy John’s Pickle Pals. 

The Pickle Plushies Are Maybe Too Cute

Collectibles have become a bit of a thing (remember the chicken purse at Walmart, with its little accessories?). But having seen all five of the Pickle Pals, I can attest they aren’t just merch attached to a theme―they’re straight-up adorable. They’re also all different! Maybe a few inches tall tops, they’re little green plush pickle keychains with different happy and silly expressions. One of them looks pretty proud of his pickle biceps and another, with glasses, looks like he’s about to ask another pickle to Pickle Prom. They also have names: Lulu, J.J., Big John, Vito, and Tom. Yes, we also want all five. 

And good news, you can get them soon―again the Picklewich comes out on October 26th, the Triple Pickle Meal on the 27th, and the meal deal is how you can get one of the Pickle Pals. Unfortunately, you can’t request a specific plushie, but there’s an easy fix. All you have to do is get a bunch of pickle-loving friends and head to your local Jimmy John’s. (Just don’t forget to bring a lot of breath mints.)
