At any given time, there are usually a whole host of Dr Pepper-flavored foods out there – and as you might expect, Dr Pepper-flavored candy is fairly high up on the agenda. There are even Dr Pepper candy canes, if you’re interested in a combination of festive fun and its vanilla-y, spicy flavors in one package. Its latest candy, though, inserts itself into an equation that we’re very excited about, and it’s left us wondering whether these will be even bigger than the soda brand has anticipated.

What do I mean by all this? I mean that there are new Dr Pepper cola bottles, and I’m desperate to try them.

Dr Pepper Gummy Soda Bottles

Dr Pepper has teamed up with Frankford Candy to release its new Gummy Soda Bottles, and according to @candyhunting, they’ve started appearing at Dollar Tree. Now, even though I said they were Dr Pepper cola bottles above, they’re, of course, technically not that: Cola bottles rely on a cola flavor, after all. But squint, and they’re exactly the same: Little bottle-shaped gummies with a brown and white pattern. You probably wouldn’t notice the difference until you bit into them.

This isn’t the first time Dr Pepper has been in a gummy bottle. A very similar product used to be made by Kenny’s Candy, which was just one in a line of gummy candies with different soda flavors, like A&W Root Beer, Crush Orange, and Crush Grape. Those are all gone, but Dr Pepper, in its ever-enterprising fashion, has persisted.

A Slam Dunk

I can see how these gummy bottles have the potential to be a damp squib. For cola bottles to work, the cola flavor has to be really strong; you can instantly tell the difference between a Haribo cola bottle and one made by an imitator. Luckily, it seems like Frankford Candy has done a good job with these. “They’re really good. I give them 9/10,” said one comment on @candyhunting’s post. “Found them at DG and will say I think I like them better than the Haribo cola gummies,” stated another, also saying that these gummies are softer than Haribo’s cola version.

So far, so good, huh? And at Dollar Tree prices, too. These new gummies come at a time when Dr Pepper is gearing up to release two new permanent creamy flavors, so we’re about to get even more from the soda giant. It’s Dr Pepper season, baby.
