The Costco bakery: It gives, and it gives. The store’s bakery section has been on a very solid sprint of late, with its bevy of new fall treats hitting the spot with its customers. Both its Blueberry Caramelized Cheesecake Croissants and its Lemon Cream Caramelized Croissants have been winning rave responses, and while we weren’t utterly blown away by its Pumpkin Streusel Muffins, we rated them a very respectable 7.5 out of 10. So, not quite a generational run, but it’s definitely pumping out a lot of hits.

Its latest cupcakes may well join the big leagues of Costco classics, too. The store has just dropped new Cookies & Cream Cupcakes, and admirers of a certain sandwich cookie will be overjoyed.
Costco Cookies & Cream Cupcakes
Costco content creator @costcobuys has just revealed that the store is now selling new Cookies & Cream Cupcakes for $8.99 per pack. That may sound like a steep price, but they come in a 12-count tray – so if you break it down, these cost around $0.75 per cupcake. Now, doesn’t that sound so much more reasonable? Plus, once you get a load of the amount of frosting on these, the price starts to sound even better. These cupcakes are piled high with cookies and buttercream icing, which sits atop each cookie crumble-studded cake. They look like they could sit comfortably in the window of an artisanal bakery, and they’re basically Oreos in cupcake form. If that doesn’t float your boat, I don’t know what will.
This isn’t the first time that Costco has experimented with combining cookies and cupcakes – although before, it’s been a little more strident about it. Back in 2020, the store sold cupcakes with an entire cookie planted on top, in a monster-sized hybrid that got tongues wagging. By comparison, its Cookies & Cream Cupcakes are positively demure (and speaking of which, we think it’s time to bring those back, Costco. Give us the Frankenstein’s Monster-style bakery creations; we love ’em).
It’s A Hit! (Maybe)
So far, Costco’s Cookies & Cream Cupcakes haven’t received too much fanfare from customers, but people are definitely excited about these things. “NEED,” said one person on @costcobuys’ post about them, summing up the general sentiment.
As yet, though, it’s not entirely clear how widely Costco will be releasing these cupcakes; they could be everywhere, or they could only be in certain stores, as was the case with its recent ahi poke drop. Time will tell.
