There’s a snowstorm coming…in the form of the Dairy Queen Blizzard! DQ’s flagship frozen treat may come into its own in the summer months, in all its cooling, creamy glory – but the chain is never far from releasing new flavors at other points in the year. So, while customers got a trio of new Blizzards this summer, they also got a Halloween Blizzard in the form of its Enchanted Oreo flavor…and they’re also about to get a couple of new options for the holidays.

Well, maybe. Dairy Queen has yet to confirm these officially. But it’s all looking very likely, and we’ll explain why.
Dairy Queen Holiday Blizzards
In the last couple of days, we’ve started spotting reports that Dairy Queen’s newest Blizzard Collection will be arriving as early as next week, specifically on November 2. Although, as mentioned, these have yet to be announced by Dairy Queen HQ (or, in a satisfying abbreviation, DQHQ), several Dairy Queen locations around the country have already started advertising them on social media. As such, unless there’s a big surprise, we can likely expect these new flavors to appear fairly soon.
“But what new flavors are we getting?” you ask. Well, Dairy Queen is dropping a brand new option in the form of its Peanut Butter Blossom Blizzard, which combines vanilla soft serve with peanut butter topping, Hershey’s Mini Kisses, and Blondie Brownie pieces. It’s also reviving its Peppermint Bark Blizzard, a holiday staple that combines vanilla soft serve with peppermint bark pieces. If both of these flavors do arrive on November 2, we can expect them to stick around during the run-up to Christmas, so people will (hopefully) have six to seven weeks to get their fill.
It’s A Holiday Miracle!
The news of DQ’s impending Blizzards has gone down a storm on socials. Over on @snackwire’s post about the frozen treats, folks are mainly excited about the Peppermint Bark coming back – although a lot of people are also questioning where its Frosted Sugar Cookie flavor is this year. Given that it’s shown up every year but one since it first debuted in 2022, it’s a fair ask, and if DQ elects not to revive it for this holiday season, it might cause a minor ruckus. But look: the chain hasn’t confirmed these yet, so it’s still all to play for.
Personally speaking, I think the Peanut Butter Blossom Blizzard isn’t getting enough love here. While I recognise that frozen Hershey’s Mini Kisses have the potential to break a couple of teeth, the combo of those and Blondie Brownie pieces is really speaking to me, in all its sugary, vanilla-y, peanut butter-inflected glory. I think this one could be a sleeper hit.
