This Burger King Is Dyeing Everything Green For Avengers: Doomsday

Avengers: Doomsday is coming. Wait, you hadn’t heard? Well, it’s true – and for the next six weeks, the noise around it is only going to get more intense. The blockbuster event of the year is set to be absolutely huge, and the marketing for it is going to reach every corner of the country, the globe, and possibly the universe.

In the food world, that means collaborations. Many collaborations. Collaborations that may well cause you to do a double take. That’s exactly where we find ourselves today, with an Avengers: Doomsday menu at Burger King India…where everything is green. Buckle up, it’s all gonna get a little weird. 

Burger King India’s Avengers: Doomsday Menu

Burger King India’s new menu dropped on November 3, and the angle it’s taken is unique, to say the least: Coat everything in green sauce. The sauce itself has a spicy garlic flavor, but it’s hard to escape the sense that it all looks a little, well, radioactive – and while it may be in keeping with the Doctor Doom of it all, I’d imagine some customers may not love the look here.

For those who do, though, there are plenty of green-dunked items to enjoy. Its Doomsday Whopper features a chicken or veggie patty soaked in the spicy garlic sauce, encased in a black sesame bun. Its  Loki Molten Cheese Burger, meanwhile, has a fried cheese patty in the center of it, also coated in the green gunk- er, sorry, I mean sauce. Chicken nuggets and chicken bites fans can also choose from its Thor Chicken Thunder Nuggets or its Gambit Boneless Chicken, both of which are – you guessed it! – covered in the sauce. Oh, and its fries (or Shuri Vibranium Loaded Fries) also come with the sauce on top, and you can wash it all down with a Fantastic Fizz, which @snackolator says is a Sprite-based drink. I don’t need to tell you what color it is, do I?

We’re Not Green With Envy About Missing This One…

Burger King India’s new menu – which also features such delights as Falcon Fearless Chicken Wings, a Cyclops Soft Paneer Burger, and a Magneto Crunchy Chicken Burger – has, of course, been received with a cocked eyebrow from some corners of the internet. I’m going to point out here, though, that green sauces and chutneys are commonplace in Indian cuisine, and so in that context, the use of it isn’t that unusual. However, it’s the delivery that’s giving me pause here. Soaking absolutely everything in sauce, no matter how delicious it is, introduces a sogginess that’s hard to get around. I’m sure this green sauce tastes good in isolation…but some of the combinations here are a little tricky. 

This isn’t the only international menu inspired by Avengers: Doomsday that’s leaning on green, either. KFC’s just announced a massive menu that puts the color front and center too. This is all going to be inescapable for a while, people, so we better get used to it.
