Sure, there are still plenty of frozen pizzas that taste exactly like what they are: cheap, quick, and convenient. But some pies have developed a much bigger reputation. Fans online are comparing them with Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Little Caesars, and even local pizza shops, and some frozen pizzas are coming out on top.

So this list a little different from the usual “best frozen pizzas” roundup. The goal here was to find pizzas that people actually say can beat delivery, not simply pizzas that taste good for something that came from a freezer. And these five kept showing up in those conversations.
Home Run Inn
Home Run Inn has an advantage that most frozen pizza brands cannot claim: It started as an actual Chicago pizza restaurant. The brand’s frozen pizzas are based on the tavern-style pies served at its restaurants, and fans clearly notice the difference.
The frozen Meat Lovers pizza has earned especially strong praise. One Reddit reviewer called it the best frozen Meat Lovers pizza they had tried and said its cheese, sauce and meats were better than offerings from Pizza Hut, Papa John’s and Domino’s.
Another Reddit discussion went even further, with a commenter saying Home Run Inn tasted better than Domino’s, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut and other major chains.
The brand has also received praise from people who have eaten both versions. In an Illinois Reddit thread, one customer said the frozen pizza was nearly identical to the pizza served at the actual restaurant.
Motor City Pizza Co. Supreme
Motor City Pizza Co. has probably done more than almost any other frozen brand to change expectations around what comes out of a freezer.
The Detroit-style pizza has a thick, buttery crust, plenty of cheese and those crispy caramelized edges that make the whole thing feel much more indulgent than a typical frozen pie.
A few years ago, we gave the brand a perfect 10/10 rating and specifically praised it as being better than delivery, highlighting its soft interior crust, crispy cheese edges and generous toppings.
Reddit has plenty of similar enthusiasm. In a 2026 comparison between Motor City and Screamin’ Sicilian, one reviewer picked Motor City as the winner and gave it an 8/10. Another commenter went considerably further, saying Motor City beats even cheap delivery chains such as Domino’s and Pizza Hut.
I think the best thing about this pizza is the crust. It manages to get fluffy in the middle while developing crunchy, cheesy edges, which is exactly the sort of texture that can make a frozen pizza feel restaurant-worthy.
Screamin’ Sicilian
Screamin’ Sicilian does not believe in being shy with toppings.
The pizzas tend to be loaded with cheese, sauce, and toppings, and the crust has enough substance to handle all of it. That makes the brand a favorite among frozen-pizza fans who want something that feels closer to a full pizza-shop meal.
Reddit fans have been singing the brand’s praises for years, too. One reviewer called its Loaded Pan Pizza the best-tasting frozen pizza they had ever eaten, while another described Screamin’ Sicilian as the best of the best in frozen pizza.
Food & Wine also recently put Screamin’ Sicilian’s Bessie’s Revenge among its five standout frozen cheese pizzas after a blind tasting of 17 options.
DiGiorno Stuffed Crust
DiGiorno practically built its reputation around challenging delivery pizza, so including it on this list almost feels mandatory.
The famous slogan may be decades old, but customers are still making the comparison. A 2026 Walmart review for DiGiorno Stuffed Crust called it “better than delivery” and said you can’t go wrong with this. Another recent shopper said the pizzas made the family feel like they were eating takeout at home.
Reddit might even love it more, as one commenter said DiGiorno’s deep-dish pizza was better than any Domino’s pizza they had eaten. Another thread specifically argued that DiGiorno was better than Domino’s, with several commenters agreeing that the frozen pie could beat the chain.
The stuffed crust is probably the easiest version to make the argument for. The extra cheese inside the crust gives it a richer, heavier bite than a basic frozen cheese pizza.
Red Baron
Red Baron may look like one of the more ordinary names in the frozen aisle, but shoppers have some surprisingly great words about it.
Walmart reviewer said “I don’t know why some people still pay such high prices for delivery pizza. I love Red Baron pizza and it’s always priced right. I buy the more plain versions then spice it up as I like, with extra veggies or cheese or different meats. It’s perfect for movie and game nights or just a simple dinner when you don’t feel like cooking.”
A Reddit user said Red Baron had no business being this good for its price, and another said they eat it exclusively.
