We just reported on BuzzBallz coming out with a $35,000 engagement ring, which seems like it should be fake, but isn’t. Well, now a very real-seeming menu of BuzzBallz cocktails is hitting the fast casual news circuit—but all signs point to it being a hoax.

The menu image that’s circulating shows four different BuzzBallz cocktails served in actual glassware (round jars, specifically), with actual ice, and actual garnishes. The price: just $6 a pop. Here are the flavors advertised on the (presumably AI) Applebee’s menu:
Pink LemonSqueezy
“Citrusy, tart, and sweet with flavors of lemon, raspberry, and cranberry.”
Strawberry ‘Rita
“A spiked Strawberry Margarita with fruit flavors of lime and lemonade.”
Choc Tease
“A creamy Chocolate Martini with chocolate, vanilla, and coffee flavors.”
Watermelon Smash
“A juicy watermelon punch with flavors of lime, sweet lemon, and pear.”
So, it’s fake?
While the initial menu post got some attention, a response video is getting even more. In it, the poster complains about the cost of the BuzzBallz cocktail, saying they will not be supporting this “watered down BuzzBallz movement at Applebee’s.” You can get a real BuzzBallz ball at a store for about $3.50, and it’s certainly not watered down. So the complaint is valid.
But regarding the menu’s validity, the video post has multiple comments saying things like, “This is ai, I saw a post on Facebook about this. I legit believed it was real too and was so excited!!!!” Some folks were so hyped they even fact checked at their local Applebee’s. “Not in California, already called my local Applebees 🥲,” wrote one commenter.
Should Applebee’s launch a BuzzBallz cocktail menu?
If the hype is to be believed, a BuzzBallz cocktail menu would undeniably do well. Pink LemonSqueezy paired with a Bourbon Street Chicken skillet? Home run.
We tasted and reviewed 13 BuzzBallz flavors, and pretty much approve of the flavors this fake, AI Applebee’s is serving. We’re particularly fond of the Strawberry ‘Rita. But, if they had asked us, we would have swapped the Choc Tease with the Espresso Martini.
