Applebee’s Made A Spooky Mountain Dew Mocktail With OREO On Top

Applebee’s has brought back the fan-favorite Spooky Sips with drinks like Tipsy Zombie and Dracula’s Juice, plus colorful Dirty Fountain Sodas for anyone skipping the booze.

As if those are not enough, Applebee’s is adding two new Halloween drinks to the mix and one of them might be the wildest one yet.

New Applebee’s Halloween Drink

The Graveyard Soda has a lot going on for something that technically started as a fountain drink.

Mountain Dew gives it the citrusy soda base, while Monin blue raspberry gives it a sweet berry flavor and its bright green appearance. Applebee’s then adds a creamy swirl and whipped cream before finishing the drink with grenadine and crushed Oreo cookies. The whole thing comes in at 300 calories.

The Oreo topping is easily the part that grabs the most attention. Cookie crumbs on a milkshake is pretty normal. But cookie crumbs on a Mountain Dew? That’s a different conversation.

There’s Another Spooky Mocktail

Applebee’s also has another Halloween nonalcoholic drink called the Tropical Spell Mocktail.

The drink is made with pineapple, passion fruit, cherry, lime, and Monin dragon fruit. At 340 calories, it’s a little higher in calories than the Graveyard Soda, but the flavor combo makes it sound much more like a tropical fruit drink than a spooky soda experiment.

Fans Have A Lot To Say

The Graveyard Soda has already started a small debate among Mountain Dew fans on social media.

The biggest question is: Why are there cookies in the soda? A Facebook user commented “I love Mountain Dew, I absolutely love love love Oreos. But Oreos and Dew? Not sure.”

While another person is looking forward to trying both drinks, saying “I want both of these and I havent been to applebees in like 5 or 6 months so ill have an excuse to go there.”

On Reddit, one user said the drink looked delicious but wondered if it wasn’t too sweet. Someone else pointed out that, without the toppings, the drink is basically raspberry syrup, Mountain Dew, and cold foam.

Applebee’s Has Given Halloween A Lot To Work With

The Graveyard Soda and Tropical Spell give Applebee’s two very different ways to get into the Halloween mood. But don’t forget there’s also the Spooky Sips, which returns every year for Halloween, with drinks like Tipsy Zombie and Dracula’s Juice.

The Graveyard Soda is sweet, creamy, fruity, fizzy, and covered in cookie crumbs. It feels like someone looked at a regular dirty soda and asked how much more could fit into the cup.

The Tropical Spell is the calmer option, with pineapple, passion fruit, cherry, lime, and dragon fruit doing the heavy lifting.

For Mountain Dew fans, though, the Graveyard Soda is clearly the head-turner.

There’s no official word from Applebee’s yet on when these drinks will be out officially and for how long they will be available. But with most fall menus being released by late September, these new drinks may already be on their way.
