There are some food and drink combinations that just make sense. Wine and cheese. Cookies and milk. Taco Bell and Mountain Dew Baja Blast.

I mean, can you even imagine ordering a Crunchwrap Supreme without having the option of washing it down with that suspiciously bright blue-green soda? I mean, you probably can, but why would you want to?

Well, Baja Blast fans can rest easy. Taco Bell and PepsiCo have renewed their partnership for another 11 years, meaning the beloved tropical lime-flavored Mountain Dew isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. And that’s not even the only good news. The two companies also have some plans involving Doritos Locos Tacos. Now you have my full attention.

Baja Blast Is Staying At Taco Bell Through 2036

According to an October 22nd announcement from PepsiCo, the renewed agreement will keep the company’s drinks flowing at participating Taco Bell, Taco Bell Cantina, and Live Más Cafe locations across the US through 2036.

That includes Mountain Dew Baja Blast, Mountain Dew Baja Midnight, Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Mountain Dew, and Starry, along with other PepsiCo beverages.

Eleven years is an impressive commitment. I don’t even know what I’m having for dinner tonight, and these two companies have already figured out their beverage situation for the next decade.

Then again, Baja Blast has been a pretty successful partnership. Taco Bell and PepsiCo first introduced the drink in 2004, and it’s since grown into a billion-dollar brand with a fan following that takes its neon-colored soda very seriously.

And the partnership isn’t limited to the US. PepsiCo will also continue serving as Taco Bell’s beverage partner in Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Thailand, with plans to develop drinks and other offerings for those markets.

But there’s another part of this announcement that might be even more exciting than the promise of 11 more years of Baja Blast.

New Doritos Locos Tacos Flavors Are Coming in 2027

Remember when Taco Bell first introduced Doritos Locos Tacos? The idea of turning a Doritos chip into an entire taco shell was pretty crazy. In a good way, of course.

Well, Doritos Locos Tacos will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2027, and Taco Bell and PepsiCo are planning to mark the occasion with new flavors.

Unfortunately, that’s about all they’ve told us so far. The companies haven’t revealed which flavors they’re working on, when they’ll arrive, or whether they’ll be available nationwide. So there’s still plenty of room for speculation.

I know I’d love to see something involving Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos. Or maybe Flamin’ Hot Limón. Although I might need a fairly large Baja Blast to accompany the latter.

And the companies aren’t stopping at tacos. The renewed partnership also includes plans to develop more specialty drinks, including crafted beverages, functional drinks, and energy options aimed at younger consumers.

That builds on Taco Bell’s recent experiments with drinks like Refrescas and its expanding Live Más Cafe concept. So while Baja Blast is staying put, there’s a good chance we’ll see some rather different beverages joining it over the next few years.

For now, though, I’m most interested in those mystery Doritos Locos Tacos flavors. We’ve got Baja Blast secured for another decade. Now I’d like to know what we’re going to be eating with it.
