As much as I’ve loved the rocket pop trend hitting everything from cookies to energy drinks, the real innovators are looking ahead to what’s next. If Bombsicle is today’s #1 trendy ice cream-inspired flavor, what’s tomorrow’s? Bloom may have the answer: Strawberry Shortcake Bars. This upstart energy drink brand isn’t the only company trying to capture the nostalgic power of the OG Good Humor bar, but it might end up one of the best. Let’s find out whether the ice cream truck is actually just a fountain of good ideas.

Bloom Strawberry Shortie Energy Review
New Bloom Energy!
Pros: I’m genuinely surprised by how well this zero-sugar energy drink captures the fruity, creamy richness of a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar. Bloom’s got a great blend of artificial sweeteners if you’re the type that’s sensitive to the aftertaste. This is absolutely a top-tier “dessert” energy drink if that’s what you’re looking for.
Cons: Folks, comparison is the thief of joy. I rated Bloom’s Glacier Crush Energy an 8/10 in my initial review last year. Now, I can confidently say that initial rating is too low for how much that flavor has grown on me since then; the best proof is that I later included it in my Top 5 Energy Drinks of 2025. I definitely like Bloom’s Strawberry Shortie Energy… but not as much as I like Glacier Crush. That said, this drink definitely deserves more than a 7.5.
As such, consider this a secret two-in-one review. From this day forward, I’d like to formally consider Bloom’s Glacier Crush Energy a 9/10. Don’t worry, I’ll iron all this out for posterity when I update our “Every Bloom Ranked” piece.

What’s coming next from Bloom Energy?
At the very same industry event where this drink was sampled for the first time, Bloom revealed two other dessert-flavored energy drinks debuting in early 2027: Lemon Freezie and Cotton Candy. While we initially believed these three drinks would all be released at the same time, Strawberry Shortie ended up arriving a little earlier. Stay tuned to Sporked for reviews of Bloom’s Lemon Freezie and Cotton Candy energy drinks as soon as we can get our hands on them.
