If you’re looking for Champagne in a can and want the real stuff—the actual sparkling wine from the Champagne region in France—then, I’m sorry, I can’t help you. But if you’re looking for canned Champagne that’s actually sparkling wine in a can—as in, sparkling wine made outside of Champagne—then I have some recommendations. I tried 15 different cans of sparkling wine (and a few cans of rose wine that just happened to be effervescent) and found six that I think are worthy of your mouth.

This sparkling rosé in a can tastes like straight up fruit punch. If you don’t actually want wine but you do want Sangria, then this is the canned sparkling wine for you. It’s easy drinking, not too sweet, but certainly not traditional wine. It’s perfect for day drinking; bring some to your next BBQ.

Okay, so this sparkling rosé in a can isn’t actually sparkling rosé. It’s regular rosé, but because of how it’s canned, there is some light carbonation, which makes it the best sparkling wine in a can if you’re sensitive to bubbles but still want a little spritzy. The flavor is dark and fruity, rich and tannic. It leaves your tongue feeling zesty and tingly, as if you bit into a lime. Plus, the cans are adorable and the company is queer-owned and they work to give back to local LGBTQ communities. What more could you ask for from your happy hour wine?

This sparkling rosé in a can is dry as a bone. It tastes somewhere between a natural rosé and a dry hard cider. It’s different from any other canned sparkling wine I tried. And if you poured it into a glass, I’d never guess that it came from a can. That said, you shouldn’t pour it into a glass because then you’d miss the super fun can design. It looks more like a can you’d get from a local craft brewery than a winery. This sparkling wine in a can is pushing boundaries.

Overall, this is the best sparkling rosé in a can that we tried because it is the most balanced and accessible. It’s fruity upon first sip, but ends clean and dry, so you’re ready to take another sip. The bubbles are tiny and delicate. It’s an elegant sparkling rosé in a can, perfect for baby showers or engagement parties or hanging out on the couch eating microwave popcorn.

You may have noticed all the previous canned sparkling wine on this list has been sparkling rosé. There’s a lot of it out there and a few that are quite good. But now we’ve reached the top of this list, which is also where we leave rosé behind. If you’re looking for canned Champagne, this might be the closest you can get (in the U.S., at least). It’s toasty and citrusy and very spritzy with wonderfully small bubbles. Plus, the tiny magenta cans come with straws, so you don’t have to mess up your lipstick. How chic.

This is not only the best sparkling wine in a can, it’s also the number one best canned wine, period, according to our ranking. It’s less like Champagne in a can and more like Prosecco or Cava in a can, which is to say it’s less toasty and more lemon-forward. It’s crisp and easy drinking, without being too fruity or sweet. Once your pals get over the fact that you won’t be sabering any bottles of Champagne, but cracking open cans instead, it’s a real crowd pleaser of a canned sparkling wine.
