I don’t know what it is, but me and chili crisp understand each other. We bond together like toes and toe jam. For someone whose heat and hot sauce tolerance currently stands very low, I can’t get enough of it. I first discovered this glorious condiment while eating dumplings. My dumpling experience isn’t complete without it. Once in a while, my sister and I like to adventure over to the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles, home to many dumpling houses, where we shamelessly stuff our faces. Before even gazing upon the menu, I check the table for one, soy sauce, and two, chili oil. And it 100% has to be the right one. If it doesn’t have crispy bits, I don’t want it. Since I’ve had so much trouble finding the correct one, I decided to stash my favorite jar in my purse. Might as well be prepared for anything! Fly by Jing has been my favorite brand so far. It’s not overpowered by crispy bits, and it has just the right amount of oil. It gives me the feel good butterflies in my tummy that I deserve. Oh yeah, and fry your eggs in it, dammit!
