When people debate the best Doritos flavors, they tend to focus on the two big boys: Nacho Cheese Doritos and Cool Ranch Doritos. But not taking the rest of the brand’s rather ample lineup into account is erasure, and we simply won’t stand for it!
The grocery store snack aisle is an embarrassment of Doritos—and there are always new Doritos flavors to try. So we recently sat down for a second taste test of every Doritos flavor and, with a little help from our bud Mythical Chef Josh, once again put together a list of the best Doritos flavors of them all.

- Doritos Golden Sriracha
-
Golden Sriracha Doritos are making this list for one reason: They’re fascinating. They’re a bit like Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos—they similarly blend sweetness, umami, and heat—but they have a powerful bell pepper flavor that’s really unique. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t familiar with the concept of “golden” sriracha until I tried this new Doritos flavor, but it’s a real thing that exists, and these definitely taste adjacent to pepper sauce made with yellow chiles—you know, considering they’re an American company’s take on a Mexican chip flavored to taste like a Southeast Asian condiment. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Doritos Flamas
-
Be forewarned: Doritos Flamas are not terribly spicy. If you’re looking for the best Doritos for heat-seekers, check out the next entry on this list. But if you like a limón chip, you’ll like these. Doritos Flamas are so limey. And it isn’t just citric acid tang; it’s lime flavor. Is there lime juice listed in the ingredients? Nope. But trust me: These are the best Doritos if you always reach for hint-of-lime chips instead of plain tortilla chips. These were too intensely tart for some of our taste testers, but limón lovers can take the tang. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Doritos Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch
-
Flamin’ Hot Cool Ranch Doritos are some of the best Flamin’ Hot chips out there (the best, according to Rhett & Link) and some of the best Doritos, too. They’re genuinely spicy and have just a bit of that iconic Cool Ranch flavor, too. For me, they’re a little light on the ranch, but I like that they don’t have that weird, chemical aftertaste a lot of Flamin’ Hot chips have. If you like spicy chips and you like ranch, this is the best Doritos flavor for you. —Jordan Myrick

- Doritos Taco Flavor
-
Did you know that Taco was the first Doritos flavor? I’d always assumed Nacho Cheese was the original, even though Taco flavor does come in cute throw-back packaging. Anyway, these really encapsulate the flavors of a crunchy taco. They taste like taco seasoning, yes, but not just taco seasoning. This isn’t just chile powder and cumin. There’s a lot more going on, including something that makes them taste distinctly like hard-shell tacos topped with sour cream. It’s so fancy! Some of the best Doritos flavors really taste like an entire meal in that Wonka sort of way, and that’s what these accomplish. —Gwynedd Stuart

- Doritos Nacho Cheese
-
As we said, there are generally two camps in the Doritos world: Nacho Cheese and Cool Ranch. Personally, I am team Cool Ranch. That being said, Nacho Cheese Doritos are very good and highly iconic. The flavor is cheesy and a little zesty. My favorite part is the thick layer of cheese dust it leaves on my fingers. It’s such an iconic chip that Taco Bell turned it into a taco shell! (While we’re on the subject, bring back the Cool Ranch shell, Taco Bell!) —Jordan Myrick

- Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili
-
Even when we sat down with every Doritos flavor, Spicy Sweet Chili stood out as unique. They have a rich umami taste that is hard to pinpoint. To me, they taste like gyoza dipping sauce you get at a Japanese restaurant. They’re super savory and salty. They may not quite deliver what they promise, but they’re some of the best Doritos all the same. —Jordan Myrick

- Doritos Cool Ranch
-
Literally zero notes. Absolute perfection. Could not be improved in any way. Cool Ranch Doritos are the best Doritos on the false Doritos binary. They’re crunchy, they’re zesty, they’re iconic. What more could you want from a snack? On top of being coated in a highly flavorful seasoning, Cool Ranch Doritos have the best seasoning coverage per chip out of all the Doritos flavors we tried. I truly believe that if you don’t like Cool Ranch Doritos, you have bad taste. —Jordan Myrick

- Doritos Tapatio
-
I was shocked by Tapatio Doritos when I tried them for the first time in our hot chip taste test. They are so incredibly delicious. Not only are they the best Doritos for a variety of reasons, they taste exactly like Tapatio. Not hot sauce. Not generic “spice.” Tapatio hot sauce, specifically. They are such perfect Doritos that they were named the best Doritos flavor on the Good Mythical Morning Doritos showdown, too. The seasoning is salty and well-rounded and it just tastes perfect on the chip itself. If you haven’t tried these yet, get on it! —Jordan Myrick
