None of this, “Oh, low carb pasta is an acquired taste, you get used to it.” No. We are here to share with you low carb keto pasta that tastes practically as good as the best full-carb pasta.

We tasted keto pasta brands with only salt—no sauce and no sympathy—and cooked them according to package instructions. And we found a few keto pasta brands that we can actually recommend. .

It is worth noting that a lot of these pastas market themselves at keto because the net carbs are low, which they can accomplish by fortifying the product with fiber. So, if you’re like many adults in the U.S. and do not eat enough fiber, and you immediately introduce these pastas with 24g of fiber per serving, you should…plan your bathroom proximity accordingly.

Anyway, here’s the best low carb pasta aka the best keto pasta you can buy at the grocery store or via Amazon.

It’s That Simple Angel Hair (2g Carbs)

Best 0 Net Carbs Noodles

It’s Skinny Angel Hair (2g Carbs)

This isn’t pasta as you know it. It’s not made with wheat. It’s angel hair-shaped shirataki, which is pasta made from konjac yams. It doesn’t taste much at all—maybe a hint of tang and a surprising whisper of wheatiness. While the noodles aren’t quite as thin as I like my angel hair to be, they are definitely thin. And, unlike most shirataki noodles, this brand is shelf stable. With only 2g of carbohydrates (0 net carbs) this is the best keto pasta for people who are really serious about going low carb and still eating pasta. — Justine Sterling

Nasoya Pasta Zero Spaghetti (5g Carbs)

Best Shirataki Noodles

Nasoya Pasta Zero Spaghetti (5g Carbs)

These shirataki noodles are even more flavor-free than It’s That Simple’s spaghetti. In fact, the brand boasts that these noodles are “neutral.” But the texture is nice and springly, the noodles take on any sauce (and you do need sauce), and they are very low carb. You get just 5g of carbohydrates in each serving, along with just 20 calories. They’re also vegan and gluten free. Really, this is just pasta shaped air. — Justine Sterling

Carbe Diem Spaghetti

Best Keto Spaghetti

Carbe Diem Spaghetti (16g Carbs)

A lot of the spaghetti and fettuccine options I tried for this keto friendly pasta taste test were like the Les Miz of noodles. They were long and they made me sad. Then, Carbe Diem came to the rescue. This is the only wheat-based low carb pasta that held up to any sort of heat or cooking, and gave me hope that a keto follower could live a life in which they could twirl noodles on their fork, or pull a Lady and the Tramp at the dinner table. While this spaghetti did cook up a little crumbly compared to some of the other keto pasta brands on this list, it was far and away the best low carb pasta if you’re looking to slurp some spaghetti. — Hebba Gouda

Carbe Diem Elbows

Best High Fiber Keto Pasta

Carbe Diem Elbows (16g Carbs)

As with the Carbe Diem spaghetti, this keto friendly pasta made a valiant effort of approximating the texture of regular pasta. It’s a little off from the standard pasta, but I can tell that it’s trying its best. The taste is a dead ringer for the standard pasta. A wide elbow is one of my favorite pasta shapes, and my single favorite way to make sure people give me my space in line at the grocery store, so I’m not mad at this keto pasta, even if it is just “close enough.” — Hebba Gouda

Palmini Linguine

Best Faux Pasta

 Palmini Linguine (4g Carbs)

I like this non-noodle noodle, but I like it for what it is: a vegetable. Nobody’s ever going to eat this heart of palm pasta and say, “Ah, yes, I am eating real wheat pasta,” but this is fun. It tastes a little like artichokes, feels only a little like deception, and would be a good way to bulk up stir fries or actual pasta dishes without adding so many extra carbs. This keto pasta also doesn’t require much cooking beyond a quick reheat, which makes it a convenient low carb pasta option if you’re not in the mood for cooking. Or in the mood for pasta. Because, as I said, this is not pasta. Still very tasty! — Hebba Gouda

Lulupasta Rotini

Best of the Best

Lulupasta Rotini (4g Carbs)

Of all the low carb pasta brands I tried, this struck the best balance of keto macros and taste. It has a substantial amount of protein (19g per serving), it’s low net carbs, and it’s gluten-free, but it still doesn’t taste too shabby. It’s got the best ratio of keto to want-to-eat-o. It has a little bit of an aftertaste to it and is a touch gummy in texture, but that’s pretty forgivable. It’s more than passable in terms of flavor and chew, and, honestly, keto is about eating high fat so I’d drown this keto pasta in pesto or cheese anyway. — Hebba Gouda
