Peanut allergy is among the most common food allergies in kids, so it’s no surprise that some schools are designating their campuses “peanut-free zones.” This is a tough blow for peanut lovers everywhere, but let’s focus on the positives. There are a surprising number of both classic and innovative snacks that are peanut free. We’re not just talking no peanuts in the package—oh no, we’re fully committing to peanut-free packing facilities, too. We checked and double checked all the products on this list for peanuts or mention of potential peanut contamination, but of course, you should always check the package for yourself if you have a peanut allergy! Here are six peanut-free snacks that also happen to be approved by Sporked taste testers.
- Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar Goldfish
-
We’re starting off strong with Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar Goldfish, the single greatest Goldfish flavor you can find. Even if you don’t usually love flavor-blasted snacks, we bet you’ll like these. According to SnackSafely.com, “No Pepperidge Farm (the makers of Goldfish) bakeries process peanuts.” Flavor Blasted Goldfish are the perfect peanut-free snack for kids who may be sensitive to nuts but aren’t sensitive to flavor.

- Snyder’s of Hanover Snaps
-
As the label explicitly says, Snyder’s Snaps are made in a facility that doesn’t process peanuts. Which of course, is a win for people who are allergic to peanuts—and the rest of us can continue to dunk them in peanut butter at home to our hearts’ content. These crunch, tasty pretzels are perfect for thick dips because of their unique shape, but if peanut butter is off the menu, you can pair them with nacho cheese or a peanut-free chocolate sauce.

- Simply Nature Squeezable Fruit Blend Apple
-
Applesauce should be peanut free and thankfully Simply Nature Squeezable Fruit Blends fulfills that expectation. The label specifically says these pouches are “nut and dairy free,” so they’re great for people with nut allergies and vegans. The applesauce itself is thick and creamy and super affordable (it’s from Aldi, after all), so these are great for lunchboxes or just to have around the house for visitors who may or may not have allergies and/or dietary restrictions.

- Crunchy Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos
-
Frito-Lay is a big company, so it’s no shock that some of their snacks contain nuts or are made in a facility that also packages nuts, but thankfully they lay out pretty clearly on this site which products contain nuts. (Go figure, a product called Nut Harvest has nuts in it, but better safe than sorry, I suppose.) As you’ll notice, Crunchy Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos aren’t on that list, which is a huge win for us. These crunchy Cheetos are the perfect combination of cheesy and spicy, according to Sporked contributor Danny Palumbo. Open a bag of these and rest assured you can share, because people are definitely going to want some.

- Cheddar Jack Cheez-Its
-
If there’s one thing you learn from this list, it’s that peanut-free snacks can still be packed with flavor. According to several sources, all Cheez-Its are peanut allergy safe, but these are the best tasting Cheez-Its of them all. In their ranking of the best Cheez-It flavors, Sporked senior writer Jordan Myrick described them as “cheesier and much more flavorful than the OG.” These are savory and extra salty. You’ll never miss salted peanuts again.

- Cheddar & Sour Cream Pringles
-
All Pringles crisps are considered peanut free, so feel free to choose whichever flavor you like best. If you’re looking for one of the tastiest varieties, however, Cheddar & Sour Cream are the right pick. As Danny put it, they’re “just so damn saturated with flavor.” They’re cheesy. They’re a little tangy. And they’re safe for nut-free environments. We will be popping and we won’t be stopping, thank you very much.
