Sporked Awards: Best Soda We Tasted in 2023

I am a soda fanatic. I love the stuff. I thought the task of picking only two of the best sodas from the entirety of 2023 would be difficult (we tried a lot of soda this year), but our winners made it pretty easy. The best sodas we tasted this year aren’t necessarily new or splashy—sorry, Coca-Cola Creations—but we got very excited about them all the same. These are the two best sodas we tried in 2023. I was truly shocked by our winner and how cheap it is. Scroll down, read, and then go to the grocery store immediately!

San Pellegrino Pompelmo

San Pellegrino drinks are good in general, but this Pompelmo flavor ended up being one of the best sodas we tried this year. And yes, these San Pellegrino sparkling juice bevs  count as soda. This one this tastes like actual grapefruit. It’s tangy, citrusy, and even slightly bitter, like the real deal! If you’re a fan of citrus-based sodas, this is one of the best options out there.

Great Value Root Beer

Great Value root beer initially made our list of great soda dupes. In general it’s one of the best sodas you can buy, and it’s definitely the best soda we tried in 2023. It is so affordable and since it’s sold at Walmart, you can find it pretty much everywhere in the U.S. This is some of the best tasting root beer I’ve ever had. It’s perfectly sweet and has a great, classic root beer flavor. It comes in big cans and mini cans. I have literally zero notes on this soda. It’s perfect.
