Best Things We Ate This Week (Sep. 26-30)

Each week, the Sporked team sidles up to the tasting table and sets out to find the absolute best of the best packaged foods, the gold hidden in the grocery aisles. Each week we’ll bring you five standouts that truly rocked our taste buds and changed our lives—or at least our buying habits. Here are the best things we ate this week.

Nuts ‘n More Cinnamon Toast Powdered Peanut Butter

The world of powdered nut butter is a bit of a scary place. Between navigating bitterness, funky textures, and weird colors, we found this, the holy grail of powdered nut butter. It has a robust cinnamon flavor and is pleasantly sweet without being too over the top. This would be excellent slathered on a slice of toast. Nuts ‘n More, y’all are single handedly saving the powdered nut butter game. Keep doing you!

Bare Bones Lentil Curry Plant-Based Soup

As far as pouch food goes, this Bare Bones lentil curry soup is pretty dang flavorful. This little pouch packs ten whole grams of protein and is a great option when you want something quick but aren’t willing to sacrifice flavor or quality. It’s a great lunch on the fly, ready in a mere 90 seconds in the microwave. The curry itself is excellent, and you can really taste each of the spices coming through in a harmonious and balanced manner.

Sun-Maid Cinnamon Swirl Raisin Bread

Sun-Maid knows their way around some raisins, this much we know. It should be of no surprise, then, that the company also knows good cinnamon raisin bread. The raisins in the bread are chewy and supple in the most comforting way possible. There’s also a beautiful swirl of cinnamon and raisins that’s so well incorporated into the bread itself, we had to take a second to admire its beauty.

Impossible Homestyle Meatballs

First Impossible burgers now Impossible meatballs?? What will Impossible HQ think up next?! We are truly indebted to the gang over at Impossible for bringing these meatballs into existence. Their seasoning is potent and sublime, so much so that they barely need sauce at all. Just pop these babies into the oven and we are good to go for today’s lunch.

Gordo’s Mild Cheese Dip

When you’re right you’re right! You told us to try Gordo’s Cheese Dip and we listened! It is truly amazing! We tried the mild version and it truly blew our minds. It’s on the thin side for a queso (if you’re dipping, buy some Tostitos Scoops), but we imagine it would be perfect poured over nachos. Thank you, internet.
