The best thousand island dressing is super creamy, tangy, and a little bit sweet. Really good thousand island isn’t just a dressing. It should work on salads as well as sandwiches, burgers, and as a vegetable dip.
I love thousand island dressing and think it’s really underrated. In my opinion, it’s up there with ranch dressing. It’s so versatile and delicious. I was thrilled to try every thousand island dressing I could get my hands on (10 different brands!) to find out the best. This was one of my tastiest taste tests in a while. Scroll and enjoy the dressing so nice they named it after a thousand islands.

I’ve liked a lot of the Follow Your Heart vegan salad dressings and this one is no different. It’s so tasty! Just like the non-vegan thousand island dressings, this is creamy, zesty, and has a hint of sweetness. To be honest, I don’t even know if I’d be able to tell this was plant-based in a blind taste test. I’m absolutely begging you to make a vegan Reuben sandwich with this vegan thousand island dressing. Begging!

- Bob’s Famous Thousand Island
-
Bob’s Thousand Island Dressing & Dip is definitely more of a dip or spread than a dressing and I love that. It’s thick. This is the kind of sauce that you slather onto something. This would be a great sandwich spread or vegetable dip. I’m going to be real with you: I dipped pizza into this. It was delicious and I will do it again. If you need salad dressing, Bob’s will always be a safe bet.

- Kroger Thousand Island
-
Okay, Kroger! Good job! This thousand island dressing was one of the best store bought thousand island dressing brands we tried. It’s sweet, tangy, and thin enough to drizzle over a salad. This big bottle is less than $3 and will last you for a while. We tried tons of store-brand thousand island dressings and this blew the others out of the water. Next time you’re at Kroger, grab a bottle of this and give it a shot. You will like it. I promise!

- Wish-Bone Thousand Island
-
I had literally zero expectations for Wish-Bone salad dressing since most Wish-Bone salad dressings I have tried have been underwhelming in general. This one, on the other hand, is great! It’s so good that it’s our second best thousand island dressing we tried in this entire taste test. And may I remind you that this was a very delicious taste test. This thousand island salad dressing is smoother and more liquidy than some of the other versions we tried, but that’s one of the things we loved about it. If you’re not looking for big chunks of pickle in your salad dressing, buy this!

- Ken’s Steak House Thousand Island
-
There’s not much to say other than it’s perfect. This is thousand island dressing. It’s thin enough to still be considered dressing but thick enough that you could use it as a burger sauce (which I already have). The taste is perfectly (again, perfect) balanced. It’s tangy, sweet, creamy, and salty. Ken’s thousand island dressing dances on every taste bud on my tongue and that’s why it’s the best thousand island dressing brand we tasted.

I’ve had Ken’s Thousand Island dressing. I was not impressed. I loved O’Charley’s and now I can’t find it anywhere. I like Marietta’s much better than Ken’s. But then taste is subjective. I will be trying Kroger’s, though!
That was Marzetti’s. Darn autotext.
I remember when a Pizza Hut opened in Frankfurt Germany. My girlfriend and I rode with her friend and her husband who was an MP. It took us about 3 hours to get there and once we did we ordered a couple of huge American style pizzas, one of which was a pepperoni. I watched in amazement (and horror) has the MP (Military Police) dude, poured Thousand Island dressing on his pizza!!!!! I asked WTH dude?!?!?!?? All he said was “Try it.” So I did and I was hooked!!! I still get strange looks when I pour Thousand Island dressing on my pizza – almost all the time except when we make pizza on the grill. I add a Tabasco as I do with EVERY non-dessert food, and it’s a perfect match! Only problem is when I travel to some countries like Brazil and we visit a local pizzeria, they never have Thousand Island dressing. It’s just not a thing in Brazil as Brazilians mostly use an oil and vinegar based dressings or just a little olive oil. Reading your comment about dipping your pizza in Thiusand Island brought back that very fond memory of how delicious that pizza was – a touch of home when I had been away for years, with a new to me twist that is still with me. Ken’s makes some pretty good dressings across the board and it is also my favorite. My 2nd isn’t Wishbone, but Kraft.
i appreciate this sooo much i hate wasting money on stuff that isnt good! i trust jordan fully as a fellow sauce enthusiast
I’ve never been disappointed with any Ken’s product. Side note: The best ketchup for me? Sir Kensington’s Classic.
I’ve never tried Sir Kensington ketchup, but here in Texas, Whataburger Spicy ketchup is the bomb. I’ll keep my eyes out for Sir Ken and give it a shot.
Thanks. I have tried many for my Rubens I make and I almost gave up. The last time I used a Russian dressing out of desperation. I’ll try the Kens next.
