The best Top Ramen flavors are leaps and bounds better than the worst Top Ramen flavors, so you’ll want to read this list. Top Ramen is not the coolest instant ramen out there. It can lack some of the finesse and subtlety of fancier brands, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t taste good! Top Ramen is accessible and super cheap. You can eat it by itself or use it as a base for a more ornate ramen dinner. Either way, you’ll be happy!
That being said, not all Top Ramen is created equal. There is one flavor that is distinctly better than the rest. Keep reading to get a full rundown of all the Top Ramen flavors (except for Chili flavor; we’ll add that when we taste it).
- Shrimp
-
Shrimp Top Ramen is certainly not bad, but it’s not the best Top Ramen flavor by a longshot. This would be perfect for someone who hates seafood. That being said, if you hate seafood, why would you buy shrimp-flavored ramen? If this is the only flavor they have at the store, buy it. It’s fine! Don’t choose it over other flavors, though, and definitely don’t buy it if you’re looking for soup that actually tastes like shellfish.

- Soy Sauce
-
I wanted to like Top Ramen’s soy sauce flavor because I’m always on the hunt for a great vegetarian instant ramen, but unfortunately this is just so one note. It just tastes like salt. If you’re a vegan with an upset stomach, this would be perfect for you. It’s pretty bland, but full of sodium. If you tossed in some chili crisp, frozen dumplings, and a few veggies, this could be a good meal. It just needs to be amped up for it to actually be enjoyable.

- Chicken

Of all the Top Ramen flavors, this is one of the most commonly available and I get why! I feel like anyone could like this flavor. It’s so salty in the best way possible. It’s like chicken noodle soup without the ultra-soft carrot chunks or bits of squishy chicken. This feels like something I’d make for myself after a night out drinking. It’s simple and feels nourishing and warming. Plus, this is my favorite flavor to eat raw. I know that sounds weird, but if you know, you know.

- Beef
-
This is, by far, the best Top Ramen flavor. It’s the most intense of any of the broths. It doesn’t just taste like salt. It actually tastes rich and meaty compared to the others. If you’re buying Top Ramen, just go for the beef. You will not regret it. This beef Top Ramen is even better than some of the fancy instant ramen noodles we’ve tried.
