This Hit Swedish Candy Brand Is Now Available Nationwide

Swedish candy is having a bit of a moment this year – but then, isn’t it always? The Scandinavian nation is known both for its love of candy and its specific traditions around it, with lördagsgodis, or “Saturday candy,” stemming from a public dental health campaign but morphing into a weekly ritual for a lot of individuals and families (note to self: adopt lördagsgodis into my own life). In the US, Swedish candy remains perennially popular, and 2026 has seen brands like Sockerbit release impressive Easter collections and Crumbl drop a Swedish candy-inspired cookie. There’s been a lot going on.

Swedish candy might be getting its biggest push yet, though, thanks to one brand mounting a huge national expansion. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to find it everywhere.

BonBon Swedish Candy Co. 

The brand in question is BonBon Swedish Candy Co., a Swedish-owned company born in New York, which grew from humble beginnings as a single candy shop on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Up until this point, BonBon has been available online, through its own stores, and via select retailers – but now it’s going nationwide. BonBon Originals are now available at more than 1,900 Target stores across the country, as well as through its e-commerce platform. 

Frankly, this is good news for anyone who likes good candy. We’ve long had a soft spot for this Swedish-American brand, and ranked its Sour Elderflower Fish as one of the best Swedish candies around. Unfortunately, that flavor won’t be immediately available at Target – but shoppers are still getting two good options. 

And What Are Those Options? 

BonBon will debut in Target with two Originals, which both feature Moomins. The Moomins, if you’re not aware, are a cast of cuddly cartoon trolls created by Finnish writer and illustrator Tove Jansson, originally published in Sweden. The cartoon franchise is massive in Scandinavia, and here in the UK we have a certain affection for it, too. 

Anyway, to the flavors! They are:

• BonBon Sour Candy Gummies x Moomin: Sour candy gummies in lemon, raspberry, cola, and melon flavors. Each one is vegan, made with natural colors, and comes in the shape of a Moomin character. 
• BonBon Strawberry & Blueberry Candy Clouds x Moomin: Strawberry- and blueberry-flavored, airy, foamy gummies, lightly dusted in sugar, and again featuring much Moomin hilarity. 

Honestly, these are way more unique than a lot of other candies out there. I want to give them a try.
