Oliver Trevena has range, having acted alongside celebrities like Gerard Butler, Nicolas Cage, and Kelsey Grammer. Not all at the same time, of course. But in addition to an impressive IMDB page, Trevena has also co-founded a company called Caliwater, providing the masses with prickly pear cactus water.

What is Caliwater?
Caliwater may sound like it’s water that’s raw vegan, gluten-free, and detoxifying. That’s true, but that’s also true of, uh, most water. What sets Caliwater apart is that it is water from prickly pear cactus. The company positions it as hydrating, high in electrolytes and antioxidants while being low in calories and sugar, and tasty to boot. It’s meant to be an alternative to coconut water. It also happens to be backed by an impressive roster of celebs.
Celebs, you say?
One co-founder of Caliwater is the aforementioned Trevena, but you also may have heard of his business partner, Vanessa Hudgens. Or the household name who endorsed the brand’s blood orange flavor, Demi Lovato. Or perhaps you’d recognize investors like Glen Powell, Gerard Butler, Cody Bellinger, or Benson Boone.
But is cactus water actually good?
Although the brand has the resources to drive sales through star-power alone, Caliwater wants to make it known that the product can stand on their own. In addition to advertising health and hydration benefits, they promise not to skimp on taste. The base of all of the drinks is prickly pear, but additional flavors include ginger and lime, pineapple, and watermelon.
All of these light, refreshing flavors purportedly make the beverage a great mixer for cocktails and mocktails, but the company is also catering to a younger audience by launching kids’ pouches. Say what you will about Caliwater, but they’re making sure they run the gamut, providing all-day hydration all the way from the Little League game to the after-hours rager when all the carpool keys are in the bowl and the frazzled parents are looking for a way to unwind without wasting all those orange slices.
