Is it a chip or a cracker? Either way, I’m craving it.

While most American snacks eventually find their way to our neighbors to the north, Canadian snacks can be a little harder to come by. In fact, there are a bunch of classic Canadian snacks that we wish were sold in the U.S. But it looks like one of them is finally crossing the border and showing up on America store shelves. Thank you, Canada!

So, what are Crispers?

They’re a highly flavored, baked snack treat that’s a cross between a potato chip and a cracker. Or as their tag line puts it, “Not a chip. Not a cracker. They’re Crispers.” And that’s not just a marketing gimmick, as they’re made from a combination of wheat flour and potato flour, so they literally are a mix of crackers and chips.

And while they were exclusive to Canada, they’re now being sold in U.S. Walmart stores, although their website only shows their BBQ and Dill Pickle flavors. That said Instagram user the.sweet.foodie did find their Ranch flavor at her local Walmart, so there’s a good chance we’ll get some other flavors, too.

And I really hope we do, as the Canadian Crispers line has some intriguing looking flavors, including Ketchup, Ranch, Salt & Vinegar, and “All Dressed Up,” which is a mixture of BBQ, Ketchup, Salt & Vinegar, and Sour Cream and Onion. It’s kind of like a tangier version of a ketchup chip, and one of the most popular Canadian potato chip flavors. I really hope it eventually makes it to the U.S.

Now, in Canada, the Crisper line is made by Christie, a division of the giant conglomerate Mondelēz International. But the U.S. version of Crispers is being made by another division of the company, Nabisco. That’s important because Walmart will let you order the Canadian Crispers, too. You just have to search for them under the Christie Crisper labels, like this. Happy Hunting!
