I find fancy restaurants a little stressful. Why do I need three forks? What am I supposed to do with the tiny spoon? And why is the waiter standing there watching me taste the wine like I’m about to deliver a professional assessment of the vineyard?

I just wanted dinner.
Well, Carl’s Jr. has decided you should be able to enjoy steakhouse flavors without having to remember which fork is for the salad.
The chain has introduced a new Angus Steakhouse Burger, complete with Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and steak sauce. No reservations, fancy clothes, or intimidating cutlery required.
What’s On Carl’s Jr.’s New Angus Steakhouse Burger?
The new burger features two seasoned, charbroiled Angus beef patties totaling one-third pound, topped with grilled onions, two slices of Swiss cheese, and bistro steak sauce, all tucked into a buttered, toasted brioche bun.
That sounds like a very respectable burger to me. Especially with the grilled onions. And two slices of Swiss cheese? Excellent. I also appreciate that Carl’s Jr. hasn’t attempted to make the burger look like something you’d need a knife and fork to eat.
Although I suppose you could use cutlery if you wanted to. You’d just have to live with the knowledge that someone at the next table was judging you. And that someone would probably be me.
Bert Kreischer Is Poking Fun At Steakhouse Formalities
To promote the new burger, Carl’s Jr. has teamed up with comedian Bert Kreischer for a campaign poking fun at the formalities of steakhouse dining. The idea is that you can have a steakhouse-worthy meal without all the ceremony that usually comes with one.
I love the idea of someone getting dressed up for a burger as though they’re attending a state dinner. Imagine spending half an hour choosing a tie, polishing your shoes, and making sure your jacket matches your pants, only to arrive at Carl’s Jr. and order a burger.
How Long Is the Angus Steakhouse Burger Available?
The Angus Steakhouse Burger is available now through January 19, 2027, at Carl’s Jr. for a limited time.
I think the appeal of this burger is that you can enjoy something a little indulgent without having to make an entire evening of it. No reservation. No dress code. No waiter appearing halfway through your meal to ask how everything is while you’ve got an enormous mouthful of food. The only thing I’d miss about the steakhouse experience is the complimentary bread.
I have a terrible habit of eating the entire bread basket before my meal arrives and then acting surprised when I’m too full for dinner. Although if Carl’s Jr. starts handing out warm bread rolls at the drive-thru, I may never leave.
