Chipotle Is Giving Away Free Food On These 3 Sundays

If your Sunday routine usually involves realizing at 5PM that you have absolutely no dinner plan, Chipotle has a solution. The chain is turning its “Chipotle Sundays” trend into an actual promotion, with a free entrée up for grabs on three Sundays.

Because we obviously needed another reason to make Sunday the day we order food instead of pretending we’re going to cook.

Your Sunday Dinner Just Got Cheaper

On August 23rd, August 30th, and September 6th, customers in the U.S. and Canada can get a free entrée when they order at least two other entrées through the Chipotle app or website after 3PM local time.

You’ll need to use the promo code SUNDAYS at checkout, but that’s about as complicated as it gets.

Ordering dinner for three? One entrée is free. Ordering for a couple of people with leftovers in mind? That works, too, as long as you’ve ordered at least two entrées.

Basically, Chipotle is giving you a reason to put “figure out dinner” firmly in the Sunday-problems-we-don’t-have-to-deal-with category.

Chipotle Sundays Are Officially A Thing Now

The promotion is inspired by the “Chipotle Sundays” trend the brand says has been gaining traction on TikTok. Fans have been turning to Chipotle at the end of the weekend for easy dinners at home or meals with friends.

And now Chipotle wants to make it official.

I can’t say I’m surprised. Sunday is already the unofficial day of avoiding responsibilities and ordering a burrito bowl fits the theme pretty well.

There’s Another Free Food Deal, Too

Chipotle also has a School Spirit BOGO happening August 20th for anyone who wants to get their free food a little earlier.

From 3PM until close, customers wearing school apparel or accessories can buy one entrée and get a second entrée free at participating U.S. locations. We’re talking school T-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, hats, and other school gear.

The promotion is available in restaurants only and the person claiming the free entrée has to be wearing school apparel or accessories. The purchased entrée must also be of equal or greater value than the free one. You can get up to five free entrées per check.

So if you have a college sweatshirt you haven’t worn since about 2018, this may finally be its moment.

The Sunday promotion runs on:

For each one, you’ll need to order at least two entrées after 3PM through the Chipotle app or website and enter SUNDAYS at checkout.

The School Spirit BOGO is a one-day deal on August 20th, while the Sunday promotion gives you three separate chances to score a free entrée.

So if your back-to-school schedule is already looking chaotic, at least dinner can be one less thing to think about. And if your definition of meal planning is opening the Chipotle app and hoping for the best, you’re already ahead of the game.
