Hormel Black Label Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bacon

Packs of Cinnamon Toast Crunch bacon are exclusive to Walmart for around $6 per slab of 12 slices. The Hormel product tracker is kind enough to list stock availability so it shouldn’t be a wild goose chase to find it. Don’t wait too long though—if you actually want to try this sweet meat after reading our review, this is only on shelves for a limited time.

Pros: Minutes after my sous chef threw a few slices in the oven, the combined aromas of cinnamon and bacon had all my test subjects sitting at attention. We had high hopes, and this bacon certainly, well, delivered is strong, but we liked it enough to polish off the entire tray. This is bacon that’s been rubbed with a cinnamon sugar blend. You already know it’s a pleasant experience at minimum. The real task here is to find out how faithful it is to the Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor that is slowly expanding across all aisles of the grocery store.

Cons: Despite the label claiming the bacon itself is Cinnamon Sugar Flavored, the only cinnamon sugar flavor found is on the edges of each slice—just the edges. The end result is the LaCroix equivalent of Cinnamon Toast Crunch-flavored bacon—it’s got a hint of CTC if you’re looking for it. I was only able to really taste the Cinnadust when I ate an entire slice rolled up at once, and even then it was underwhelming. While it’s still good bacon with a hint of cinnamon sugar on the edges, I assigned this rating based on my disappointment that this bacon does not taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Candied bacon is not a new idea, y’all; why were they afraid to give us what we wanted?
