We’ve got details on the return of a fan-favorite Coca-Cola flavor: Coca-Cola Starlight. But before we dive into the details, here’s an important disclaimer from your favorite soda newsbreaker. There’s a couple key facts I can (and ethically should) share: Coca-Cola Starlight is not returning widely to store shelves. You won’t be able to pick up a 12-pack at any random grocery store or find a bottle at your favorite gas station.
Coca-Cola Starlight is being released exclusively at a chain that only has locations in roughly half the country. On top of that, it won’t be available à la carte; you’ll have to purchase a group of items to get a single 20oz bottle. And, most heartbreakingly for some, Coca-Cola Starlight Zero Sugar is not returning alongside the full sugar counterpart.
That being said, holy crap, it really looks like Coca-Cola Starlight is coming back. Let’s shoot off some discounted fireworks and celebrate the return of the greatest Coca-Cola Creation flavor of all time.
What is Coca-Cola Starlight?
Back in 2022, Coca-Cola debuted the “Creations” line of sodas—new Coca-Cola flavors (and/or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar flavors) with vibe-based inspiration. (Check out my ranking of almost every single Coca-Cola Creations flavor.) The first flavor in that unique line was called Starlight, which was “inspired by space,” whatever that means. Actual reviews of the soda described it as fruity and evoking something in the neighborhood of vanilla or even marshmallow. (My personal description is raspberry s’mores.)
And Coca-Cola Starlight was good?
If you doubt the quality I’m preaching about here, go ahead and Google “Coca-Cola Starlight petition” for me. The numbers don’t lie, and they spell a huge demand for the return of this soda. In my humble opinion, Coca-Cola Starlight is one of the best sodas to come out of the brand’s laboratory in a very long time. When the short-lived Coca-Cola Spiced was first revealed to the public, myself and many others were praying it was just a rebrand of the Coca-Cola Starlight formula. Needless to say, the disappointment was palpable.
How do you know it’s coming back?
Earlier this month, a brand’s internal “upcoming promotions” page leaked online; one of those promotions included a bottle of Coca-Cola Starlight. Looking closer, I realized the image used a Coca-Cola Starlight render with a new label design.
After a little digging, I found the very same new Coca-Cola Starlight render from a historically reliable source. As if that wasn’t enough, a different angle of the bottle render featured a QR code link to the official health facts page for Coca-Cola Starlight, which was updated less than two months ago. The clues all fit together, y’all. While nothing is set in stone until it’s announced officially, it really looks like Coca-Cola Starlight is returning soon.
