If there’s one fictional character I’d trust to walk into a Cold Stone Creamery and create absolute chaos, it’s the Cat in the Hat. And, as it turns out, that’s more or less what’s happened.

Cold Stone has teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s upcoming The Cat in the Hat movie for a new lineup of limited-time treats, including cotton candy ice cream loaded with Oreos and sprinkles, a red velvet and cotton candy ice cream cake, and special confetti waffle cones and bowls.
It’s colorful. It’s chaotic. There are sprinkles everywhere. I don’t know what’s going on. The Cat would approve.
The full lineup is available at participating Cold Stone locations nationwide now through December 1st.
The Cotton Candy Catastrophe Has A Lot Going On
First up is The Cat in the Hat’s Cotton Candy Catastrophe, which feels appropriately named.
The Creation starts with Cold Stone’s Cotton Candy Ice Cream and mixes in Oreo cookies and confetti sprinkles before adding whipped topping. You can also order it in a special confetti waffle cone or bowl, just in case there wasn’t enough happening already.
I’m usually skeptical when something has cotton candy, Oreos, and sprinkles involved (and that happens more than you’d think), but this is The Cat in the Hat. A sensible vanilla ice cream with one tasteful topping would feel wrong.
Cold Stone’s Cotton Candy Ice Cream isn’t new for the collaboration, either. The Cat has simply arrived and started adding things to it.
There’s A Cat in the Hat Ice Cream Cake, Too
If a scoop isn’t enough, there’s also the Cake Full of Things, which might be an even stranger combination.
The cake layers red velvet cake with Cotton Candy Ice Cream, then covers the whole thing in white frosting and confetti sprinkles.
Red velvet and cotton candy aren’t flavors I’ve ever considered putting together. In fact, I’m fairly confident I’ve never thought about them at the same time before now. But the more I think about it, the more curious I get.
If any collaboration was going to put red velvet cake and cotton candy ice cream together, this feels like the one.
You Could Also Win A Private Screening
Cold Stone is also running a sweepstakes alongside the new menu. Customers can enter for a chance to win a private screening of The Cat in the Hat in their hometown, plus a $100 Cold Stone gift card.
The movie hits theaters on November 6th, while Cold Stone’s Cat in the Hat menu sticks around a little longer, through December 1st.
So, if cotton candy ice cream mixed with Oreos, confetti sprinkles, and whipped topping sounds like your idea of a good time, you have almost two months to make it happen.
