We’re All Begging Costco To Bring Back This Sweet Snack

Costco’s tendency to discontinue beloved items is well-known to its customers – and it’s not exactly liked. Like Trader Joe’s, the retailer has an uncanny ability to snatch the things people like the most from their grasp, usually at the worst possible time, and sadly, often without any explanation. Now, naturally, people don’t let sleeping dogs lie here…and as such, the internet is awash with Costco shoppers begging the store to bring back the things they miss the most.

There might be hope on the horizon for fans of one product, though. Let’s dig in.

Costco Kirkland Signature Butter Toffee Flavored Cashews

A few days ago, a thread popped up on Costco’s Reddit page discussing its Kirkland Signature Butter Toffee Flavored Cashews, which have been conspicuously absent from its shelves this year. “Where can one petition the Costco overlords to return this item to the shelves?” said the person who posted the original thread (incidentally, Costco has an online Feedback Portal that you can use, if you so wish, to send your pleas to revive items to).

Others pitched in in the thread, saying that they, too, missed Costco’s Butter Tofee Flavored Cashews. “So good,” “so freaking good,” and “soooo goood” were just a few of the comments discussing these nuts. We can conclude that they are…so good. But where are they? When are they coming back? Will they ever come back? Should we just abandon the idea that we’ll see them again?

Maybe we shouldn’t. As some people noted in the thread, these cashews tend to show up in the winter months as a seasonal item, and so they may not have been fully discontinued just yet. And then, one person piped up with potential confirmation that they’re going to make a comeback this year. “They are a seasonal item. I work within merchandising at Costco!” said the Redditor. 

Now, it’s worth taking what this person said with a pinch of salt. Not to doubt the truth of their claim, after all, but anyone can say anything on Reddit — so we don’t know for sure whether they are gonna be coming back or not. If they do, though, there will be a lot of happy Costco shoppers this holiday season, putting out a bowl of these cashews (or hiding them from their family, to enjoy in private — look, some things aren’t meant for sharing).
