Costco’s Newest Sundae Has People Excited

On the whole, Costco’s been having a good year on the sundae front. Yes, there’s been the odd dud – its churro sundae was widely criticized by its customers (and the arrival of a new churro croissant feels kind of like an “I’m sorry” from the chain), but elsewhere, it’s done well. Its Girl Scout Cookie-esque sundae back in February and its Strawberry Shortcake Sundae in Spring were both received pretty warmly, both for their flavors and their price (come on. Still just a couple of dollars? It’s hard to be mad at that).

Costco’s not done yet, though. It’s just dropped another new sundae, and we can confirm that it has its customers hyped. Let’s check it out. 

Costco’s Cookie Crunch Sundae

As alerted to us by @costcohotfinds on Instagram, Costco’s just dropped a new Cookie Crunch Sundae – and it looks to be a winner. This sundae is made with Costco’s vanilla soft serve, chocolate syrup, and cookie crumbles, and there are even some crumbles in the bottom of the cup too, for some all-around texture. There’s an Oreo vibe to the crumbles, and the whole thing is, predictably, pretty big. 

And it’s so far, so good on the response front. “This is the best sundae I’ve ever had,” said a happy customer in @costcohotfinds’ comment section, before saying that it’s an intensely chocolatey affair – but seems to be so much the better for it. Other people have said how excited they are to try this thing, although they’ve also pointed out that the sundae is going to be as sugary as they come. Maybe just don’t plan anything that important after eating one, you might need a lie down.

As ever, though, there’s always room for improvement, and one comment caught our eye when suggestion one. “This would have been so good if they still had the mint soft serve,” said an innovator in the comment section. We agree. We 100% agree. Your move, Costco. 

And…Can I Get It Now? 

Yes, you can get it now! Well, if your local Costco has it, that is. This sundae (which looks to be a seasonal drop, and not a permanent addition to its menu – although you never quite know with this place) is rolling out now, so keep an eye out. As with Costco’s other special sundaes, it’s only $2.99. Grab it with a hot dog and make a meal of it for less than $5.
