We’d say that Costco’s prepared meal section is an underrated gem – but honestly? We think it’s rated pretty well. Costco’s ready-to-go meals are, for the most part, reliable, tasty hits that are an easy way to get dinner on the table. And recently, it’s been on a bit of a roll: The recent return of its gyro kit had customers overjoyed, and it seems to be churning out new weekly items for us all to enjoy.

This week’s discovery might be one of its best yet, though. Customers have spied a new Beef Ragu with Gnocchi meal in the prepared section, and it’s safe to say that they’re very happy about it. And so are we. Let’s discuss.

Kirkland Signature Beef Ragu With Gnocchi: Your New Favorite Meal?

Costco never really announces its new prepared meals ahead of time, leaving its shoppers to make the discoveries for themselves. Thankfully, @costcohotfinds spotted this one a few days ago and brought it to our attention. The new Kirkland Signature Beef Ragu with Gnocchi is, like Costco’s other prepared dishes, a big old affair: Each tray weighs approximately four pounds, and is full of pillowy gnocchi, braised beef, tomato sauce, cheese, and a sprinkling of herbs on top (which we’re very glad about, otherwise this’d be a heavy dish indeed).

As with its other meals, this thing ain’t cheap: Costco’s Beef Ragu with Gnocchi is coming in at about $25 per tray. However, you get a lot of food for your money, and though it’s only been around for a few days, customers have said that the dish goes a long way.

But It’s All In The Taste…

It is – and we’re pleased to report that most people feel that it tastes good. In @costcohotfinds’ comment section and on Reddit alike, people have been quick to praise this beef gnocchi. One person stated that it was their favorite Costco meal so far, while another said, “Even my picky kid went back for seconds. Beef was deliciously tender.”

With all that said, though, there have been a few people who haven’t quite loved this dish as much as the others. The shredded beef appears to be a bit contentious here: Some folks love that you actually get proper chunks of beef instead of just little ground pieces, whereas others seem to take issue with the fact that said chunks are a bit too, well, chunky. We think that one will depend entirely on your preference, but honestly? We respect what Costco’s doing with this dish – and we love good store-bought gnocchi.
