Costco Just Brought Back One of Its Most-Loved Desserts

We thought we had hit pistachio burnout. And honestly, could you blame us? Over the last few years, this delicious nut has been absolutely everywhere in desserts, largely courtesy of Dubai chocolate and its associated products driving its popularity. Yes, pistachios hadn’t exactly been invisible up to that point, but it’s pretty undeniable that they’ve now had a resurgence – and now we’ve got all manner of pistachio ice creams, pistachio chocolates that aren’t Dubai-style, and, of course, more Dubai chocolates than you can shake a stick at.

Now, though, we’re getting the comeback of one item that might just revive our love of pistachios. It’s the Costco Pistachio Cheesecake. Praise be.

Costco Pistachio Cheesecake

Costco’s Pistachio Cheesecake’s return has been confirmed by customers on Reddit, who are frankly delighted at its reappearance. As a reminder, this cheesecake first appeared towards the end of last year, and it caused a huge stir when it dropped. Heavy, dense, flavorful, and texturally satisfying, it quickly reminded people why they loved pistachios in the first place, before they ended up in absolutely everything.

Then, it disappeared – until now. It’s started showing up in the store’s bakeries again, and given its widespread popularity, we’re hoping that this isn’t just a flash in the pan release. Of course, that could be the case, and if so, then you’d better run to try it, stat. With all that said, this is a pricey cheesecake: It hovers at around the $25.99 mark, although prices may vary from store to store. Given that you get almost five pounds of cake for that price, though, it’s not entirely unreasonable.

And Is It Really That Good?

Yeah. Yeah, apparently, it is. Even store employees say so, and seek to justify its price. “As a costco bakery employee I just wanna come in and say one thing. BUY THIS CHEESECAKE THE PRICE MAY LOOK ABSURD BUT IT CAN BE FROZEN FOR LONGEVITY AND IT IS SO DAMN DELICIOUS,” said one person claiming to be a Costco worker on Reddit. Plenty of other people also sang its praises, with some saying that it’s the best cheesecake they’ve ever had from Costco. That’s high praise.

The big-box store has been spending a lot of time focusing on its bakery section, and specifically its cheesecakes, in the last few months. In March, we announced that it would be bringing back its Tiramisu Cold Brew Cheesecake, in a move that customers also very much appreciated. It’s on a roll, dessert-wise, and we’re just thankful for the sweet treats.
