As the third largest retailer in the world, Costco must see a huge amount of different food manufacturers and companies to choose what makes it onto their shelves. But a new opportunity has come up for up-and-coming food brands to pitch this retail giant: the Costco Pitch Slam. So if you’ve got a product you want to see on Costco shelves, here’s what you need to know.
What’s a Costco Pitch Slam?
It’s a one-time, in person event where food and beverage brands can pitch directly to Costco buyers. Buyers will have 15 minutes to pitch their product to a Costco representative and get direct feedback on their product and pitch. Of course, they can’t accept all applicants, so the buyers will choose which lucky applicants will get to meet with them in person. If you’re interested, you can fill out an application here.
Who’s running this pitch slam?
It’s put on by the company ShelfMade, which describes itself as a “free community for product-based founders to connect with experts, partners, and peers shaping the CPG (consumer packaged goods) industry.” Basically, they offer live webinars, industry meet and greets, chat rooms, and online courses for business owners to better connect with larger buyers, like Costco. You see more of what they’re offering on their website at https://shelfmadecpg.com/.
