Thanksgiving is all about breaking bread with the people you love the most. Ergo, the bigger your heart, the bigger your dinner table needs to be to accommodate the festivities, and the more you’re going to be spending to feed all those mouths. Oh noooo that just means we have a convenient excuse to go to the hottest members-only club in the city: Costco! And if you get a $1.50 hot dog combo (or three) while you’re there, well, that’s just the price of being a cost-conscience consumer. Here are six things to pick up for your Costco Thanksgiving feast.

Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken ($4.99)

Just thinking about cooking a turkey gives me anxiety. It’s so much planning. You have to put the bird in the oven early enough that it’ll actually cook all the way through, but you also can’t cook it so early that it cools down before it’s time to carve. Skip all that mess by grabbing a rotisserie chicken from Costco (the day before, because Costco is closed on Thanksgiving) and just reheat it the day of. And now you have all that space in the oven for the rest of your Costco Thanksgiving feast!

Main Street Bistro Scalloped Potatoes ($7.99)

Potatoes are a must for any Thanksgiving table. But are you really going to boil, mash, and season your own potatoes? You could even cut out a step and buy pre-mashed, microwavable potatoes and dress them up yourself. But hear me out: Scalloped potatoes have so much going for them. They’re deceptively elegant for something you can toss in your cart and Costco and then just toss in the oven to heat. Be smart and save some precious time with this pick.

Kirkland Signature Variety Dessert Bars ($19.99)

Costco sells a pumpkin pie, and you could totally pick up that pie for Thanksgiving dessert. But in typical Costco fashion, it’s a big ass pie, which means that you’ll be eating leftovers for months. The solution to that problem? Costco’s new variety dessert bar platter. It comes with four varieties (pecan caramel brownies, wildberry macaroons, chocolate chunk brookies, and macaroon madness bars), so even if you have leftovers it’s not pumpkin mush again and again and again.

Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter ($16.95)

I am not being influenced by my recent trip to the homeland of Kerrygold, which included a visit to the butter museum in Cork… Kerrygold’s just so damn good that it’s worth a little splurge when we’re trying to stretch our wallet at the Costco checkout. I’d argue that Thanksgiving isn’t about the turkey (as we’ve established with our chicken pick), it’s actually about the butter. Think about it. What are you putting on every dish? Sweet, delicious, creamy butter. Slather it on your dinner rolls, melt it into your veggies, and mix it into your taters. Your Costco Thanksgiving feast will taste just a little bit better.

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix ($9.98)

Okay, I know I just brought up dinner rolls, but I’m mixing things up. How about some hot, cheesy biscuits for your Thanksgiving table? If you’ve never had Red Lobster biscuits, well, I’m sorry to tell you that you’ve been missing out. They’re fluffy and extremely flavorful. And you know what’s missing from a lot of Thanksgiving dinners? FLAVOR. Sporked managing editor Gwynedd Stuart told me she’s been known to smuggle these suckers out of the restaurant in her purse, so just be sure to check bags as people leave.

Tattooed Chef Sheet Pan Vegetables ($12.99)

I was raised in a “corn at Thanksgiving” family. While I certainly love corn to no end, I will admit that we can get a little more festive with our veggie dish for the occasion. The sheet pan vegetables assortment at Costco comes with very festive veggies for the season. It includes brussel sprouts, sweet potato, broccoli florets, red onion, and zucchini. Okay fine, red onion doesn’t exactly scream Thanksgiving, but we’re working with prepared foods, so we have to take what we can get.
