Di Fara Is Making Their Frozen Pizzas Available Nationwide

Di Fara Pizza is one of the best pizza restaurants in New York City and now it’s selling its frozen pizzas in grocery stores across the country. We can’t wait.

If you know anything about the New York pizza scene, you probably know a thing or two about Di Fara Pizza. This Brooklyn-based pizzeria has been cranking out pies since the mid-1960s, and it often receives pretty breathless praise; Anthony Bourdain once called it “the best of the best,” and that’s all we need to hear. We love pizza. We love good pizza. And we loooove it when it becomes even more available.

So, imagine how absolutely thrilled we were to find out that Di Fara’s pizza is going nationwide. It’s just been announced by @markie_devo that Di Fara pizza will be available in frozen form, and in four flavors, from March onward. Here’s what we know.

What Flavors Can I Get?

Di Fara is starting its line with four of its iconic pizza flavors, which are:

Classic: Di Fara’s version of a margherita, there’s a reason why this pizza is so renowned. Combining mozzarella, parmesan, basil, extra virgin olive oil, and Di Fara’s secret Sunday sauce, it’s a hit any time, any place.
Vodka Sauce: Let’s gooo. A creamy vodka sauce infused with basil, parmesan, and olive oil makes up the base here, with mozzarella topping the whole thing off. Man, we’re hungry.
Three Meat: Meatballs, sausage, and pepperoni on a tomato base, hit with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. It’s gonna be smoky, it’s gonna be savory, it’s gonna be delish.
Pepperoni: Is there anything better than cup-and-char pepperoni, Sunday sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil? We really don’t think so.

Where Can I Get Them?

Di Fara’s frozen pizzas have been popping up here and there in select retailers for a while now, but this is the moment they go truly nationwide. They’ll be available across 1,800 Target locations and 10 different retailers, including Kroger, ShopRite, and Lidl.

Will It Be…Any Good?

We think so, guys, we really do. Early response to these pizzas (which have been out for a little while, but on a way smaller scale), has been excellent. Its Vodka Sauce flavor is especially beloved by the people who have tried it, who love its creamy-tart nature. This isn’t DiGiorno’s; it’s frozen pizza made with a lot of care and individuality, and while it doesn’t quite taste like the real thing, it’s definitely good when you want a quality version of the dish.

Di Fara’s entry into the frozen pizza space also coincides with a bit of a shift in this classic food: People want their frozen ‘za’s to be a little bit more gourmet. Recently, Instacart revealed that one of the fastest-rising frozen pizza brands at the moment is Screamin’ Sicilian, a producer that focuses on making more upmarket versions of the dish. There’s a lot of room for this section of the market to grow, and Di Fara’s getting into it at a good time.
